New seasons of STARGATE SG-1 premiere in Canada on SPACE

Airs Thursdays @ 10pm ET, beginning September 9

TORONTO, Aug. 12 /CNW/ - After much anticipation, fans can finally see
the seventh and eighth seasons of Stargate SG-1 in Canada on SPACE: The Imagination Station, every Thursday at 10pm ET beginning September 9th. Based on the 1994 film Stargate and filmed in Vancouver, Stargate SG-1 taps into society's fascination with the idea that life exists elsewhere, and shows what it means to be human and how limited the future is. It is the second longest-running sci-fi series in American television history, second only to The X-Files, and exceeds every Star Trek series.

Richard Dean Anderson (MacGyver) plays Colonel Jonathan "Jack" O'Neill, commanding officer of the SG-1 team of explorers that travel to distant worlds through an ancient portal called the "Stargate." O'Neill uses his extensive military training and keen intuition to lead his team on their many otherworldly adventures. The series also stars Vancouver-born actor Michael Shanks, who reprises his role as Dr. Daniel Jackson in season seven after a year hiatus from the show; Amanda Tapping (The Void) as Captain Samantha Carter; and Christopher Judge (X-Men: Evolution) as Teal'c.

SPACE currently airs a strip run of previous Stargate SG-1 seasons, every Monday to Friday at 8pm ET, and will premiere the sixth season in this timeslot in December 2004. The Stargate SG-1 spin-off series Stargate Atlantis will debut on SPACE in 2006.
