Abusive mods?

Anyone else find the mods abusive? I mean they - and by they I mean at least one, since I don't know how many there are - not only delete posts that aren't inappropriate, but also those that just express views contrary to their own.

I see posts from people like "I'd say this but it'll get deleted...". Surely others must find that sort of treatment offensive? In the real world we would not tolerate that behaviour.

The way to stop this is simple:
1. Email the site admins and tell them what you think
2. Stop posting on the forums
3. Stop buying products through the site's links

It's one thing to stop abuse, pornography, swearing.. to delete links to torrents, etc. But to censor discussion about issues, opinions, and so on is morally wrong and ultimately detrimental to the site.

If I am wrong, then you will all read this post for weeks after its posting date and laugh. If you read this post today, come back to read replies tomorrow and find it is gone - then you will know what you must do.

I have had nothing but very good experiences with all the Moderators I have come in contact with over the years. I have been in a couple rigorous yet civil disagreements with fellow members since I joined and I have had some Mods facilitate the problem and I have had some Mods let it be worked out as long as no insults or profanity was used, either way it worked out and everything was fine.

IMHO the Mods do a great job, there dedicated, friendly, eager to help and most importantly they are fellow fans of SG and scifi in general.

Look, you've been a member of the forum for all of 10 minutes probably. Give the mods a chance. A lot of the time what you think is deleting, they're actually moving threads to different sub forums.

i dont know the mods but if what you say is true then this post will survive because you say it wont so they can have evidence thats not what they are like. lol.

You just joined today, you have one post, and you're complaining about the mods here??? I don't get it.

I like the mods here. I think they do an excellent job. I don't believe they abuse their power.

No, what this is is some... person (enter colorful metaphors of your choice) who's created an account for the express purpose of flaming the mods without getting any flak on his "real" account.

Such cowardice and hate speaks for itself.

Are the mods abusive tyrants? I wouldn't be here if they were. I may have had my disagreements with them in the past (and will no doubt have some in the future), but I am deeply grateful they're here.

From what I can tell, the only people who hate the mods are the ones who are causing trouble in the first place. Think on that.

Seriously youve been here like a nanosecond and your name is called tyrannyBEGONE so my theory is that you have a personal grudge against the mods from the outset because your are a member already and dont want to shout at the mods yourself because ull get banned, so you create a fake account to have a go at the mods on your own behalf..
Well theres one flaw, the mods are great, there usually ncie people, they do there tough job brilliantly and the only people who EVER have problems with the mods are people who have been really stupid in the first place and deserve whatever they get.
