do the episodes of SG1 and Atlantis take place, for instance, when does 'Critical Mass' take place on SG-1, in which Sam helps with finding out what kind of trigger is used for the bomb and seeing that Robert Picardo and Beau Bridges are in both season openers I can assume that they either take place at the same time or are at least a few days apart from each other.

I might be wrong but I had the impression that Atlantis eps take place one week after SG-1 eps. (in the show that is)
