This was supposed to be my "Okay, I'll watch it with one eye" - episode. Like some of you have stated already, Jaffa episodes aren't among my favorite episodes, Ishta was so-and-so the first time we saw her (IMO) and Birthright was not an episode I'm particularly fond of. And since I didn't have any high expectations going in, I was very happy with what I got.
Things that made me both smile and rejoice at the overall cuteness and/or grab the couch in hissy fits of laughter:
That opening scene between Daniel and Jack... What can I say? I loved it. Even more so when I read the trouble poor MS had getting through it. I would really like to see the outtakes on that one.
Teal'c whacking O'Neill with the ping-pong. ROFL. Serious ROFL. I think I hurt something in the process.
At least he managed to get in a serve against the defenceless wall. O'Neill: "Got one...". Fun-ny!
Horses in the gate room... Heh. There's something I never thought I would see.
Daniel and Sam's excessive smiling in response to the news of the wedding being held at the base. I thought that was the most adorable scene in a great long while.
Bra'tac. It was very nice to see him out of his clunky head-gear helmet. And what a lovely "minister" he made!
"Perhaps if we took a short recess..."
"I can see why one must rehearse these events."
This (sort of) new habit of O'Neill calling Teal'c "T" I like very much, I must say. It shows a real comfort in their friendship. As did the following line:
O'Neill: "You know how I get when you don't call."
When Teal'c pulled both Ry'ac and Co'rin into an embrace, at the same time, after Ry'ac offered his hand to him in a more official goodbye. That was so sweet.
Then there are the things that I'm a bit more hesitant about:
Those "You don't respect me" - speeches between Ry'ac and Co'rin (I have no idea how she spells it, I'm not even gonna pretend), both in the scene where they've just stepped through the gate and during the wedding rehearsal. Simply because it felt very forced to me. Plus, you'd think she'd be familiar with the ceremony and not act all Eh? with the kneeling thing. Don't get me wrong, I agree with her (why the heck should she have to kneel, and alone nonetheless?) but it seemed unrealistic that she wasn't aware of it.
It bugs me somewhat that Teal'c obvisously has strong feelings for Ishta, yet in Affinity he got involved with Krista. Sometimes, I feel like the writers don't quite know how to keep track of things that's going on with characters that are out of the picture, 'at the moment'. Then they bring them back on the show and it's like all is zippedy-do-dah and things that may have happened when they weren't present are glossed over.

And that's about it. All in all, I enjoyed it.
