    Default Stargate Poetry

one rule: post a poem about Stargate, it can be silly or serious (preferrably silly)

    The Wraith are very ugly,
    They really are a fright,
    Don't ever tick them off,
    Because they really bite.

    There ships are really big,
    And happen to be organic,
And if you're in a cocoon,
    Then it's time to panic.

i think you can come up with something better

    Uh-oh. Poetry...my kind of challenge...

    Sheppard is the cool one
To the ladies he's top rate
And if there's one thing that scares him
It's the clowns and not the Wraith

    Elizabeth is the leader
The mother hen to the teams
    Although when everything goes wrong
She's likely to blow off steam

    Teyla is a fighter
    A leader just like Weir
And judging from what we saw in 'Home'
    She doesn't mind her beer

    McKay is the smart one
    He's incredibly gobby too
How tempted must the others be
To seal his mouth with glue

    Carson is too loveable
A sweet kind guy at heart
But don't cross him in anyway
    Or the physicals will start

    Ronon is a warrior
    A tough guy in everyway
    After Ford disappeared
    Dexxy came to stay

Ford, well we don't know much now
He seems to have changed a lot
But I know that we'll see him again
When the writers come up with a good plot

So that's pretty much the squad
Well the main characters I mean
    Of Atlantis's lead make up
    Yup it's Sheppy's team.

I'll give it a try Here goes...

    When I Watch My Stargates

When I watch my Stargates, I look at my TV
I turn it on and set the dial to channel 63
I grab my seat and pillows and try to relax
Along with some popcorn and some cracker jacks

When I watch my Stargates, I like to drink my Coke
I like it so much, I think I almost choked
But don't worry, I recovered and afterwards, felt fine
Especially when Daniel and Maj Lorne came online

When I watch my Stargates, my family thinks I'm crazy
Because they see me shout, and laugh myself silly
They just don't know the utmost, satisfaction I feel
When Rodney and Sheppard argue and squabble for reel

When I watch my Stargates, I thank my lucky stars
I don't have to deal with Wraiths or the Ori to make wars
All I can do is cheer on my galactic heroes, big or small
Because when I watch my Stargates, I love them all!

    Swirling like blue mist,
    Stargate event horizon
    What danger behind?

    Haiku's rock.

    Daniel is an odd fellow
    he comes across rather mellow
    but then when he dies
    he then does arise
    and nakedly says "hello"

its not great but it made me chuckle

Her voice, so soothing, her trenchcoat so familiar,
for seven years she'd wave her needle of life
on all who trekked throgh the oriphus,
and like the blessing of an angel's touch,
she'd bring life to those who were losing it,
her faithful gift had granted her a daughter,
a daughter who was cursed by the venomous snakes.
And on the seventh year, the woman who brought life
was denied of it by the devil's hellish finger.
but Janet's legacy will continue forward eternally
and bring hope to all who take her place

This is mine. Ill come clean its a total rip off. Some bits are better than others.

I met a traveller from another world,
Who said:-Two vast Ha'taks of cold metal,
Stand in space. Beneath them men are curled,
Half dead, the ships lie, destroyed by missle,
And the bald head and order of Hammond command,
Tell that its jaffa cruel by the goa'uld led.
Which yet survive, enslaved by these heartless things.
The hand which tortured and the heart that fed.
And in the mission report these words appear:
"My name is hammond, King of Kings:
Look upon my SGC, ye mighty, and despair!"
Nothing beside remains: round the decay
of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare,
The lone and empty space stretch far away.
When all technology has failed and all hope is lost, we will realize we had the ultimate advantage all along...

The reason my chemistry teacher hates me:
    Spoiler:
MBA (my chemistry teacher): What is Avagadros constant?
Me: 6 and a bit times 10 to the 23.
MBA: Yea, you know that "bit" is two billion trillion?
Me: Im barnsley and hung over, a bit will do
    AND
MBA: What do we do to the number of moles to get the number of atoms?
Me: Times it by that really big number!
MBA: Yes, that really big number, what is it?
    Me: How should i know?
    MBA: Its on the board
Me: Then whats the point in asking???

the poems i've read here are very good. i like them all. here's my one which i posted once before on amanda tapping's website. i hope you like it!!

i dream of something different now
i dont know why i dont know how
for some reason it has a ring
    thats designed for travelling
to other planets far and near
but the world is not to hear
about the ring or what it does
they're not allowed to know because
its classified - there's no surprise
    you say you're airforce otherwise
the world would be in scattered thought
a lot of them would be distraught

stargate's what the ring is called
    used by aliens called goa'uld
    system lords, tok'ra, asgard too
    jaffa, tollan, nox and rei-tu
at the end of every misson
    you send through a transmission
to tell them that you're coming home
through the ring the colour of grey stone

But then it closes all on its own,
And I kid you not, prepare to be blown.
Prepare to laugh to laugh or prepare to frown.
The gate closed because McKay's pants were down.

    Earth Symbol Re: Stargate Poetry

Ok... I'll give it a try...

    The ring is round
    It spins around
    And dials upp a place.

    Weare ever you are
    Among the big stars
The stargate can get you back.

And when all chevrons has locked
    With earth as origin
    Destenys gate opens up.

    Young and his team
    Gets stranded there
Becuse the gate they used blewed upp

    Weare no weare to go
    And no power left
    They on destenys mission belong

But the show has been canceled
And in season 2 it ends
    The stargate universe story

    But if syfy will change
And the show gets back on-air
    Destenys misson will get done

The last part didnt reely fit in (like the rest of the poem)
But ey, i am from sweden with just c+ on eng...

    Violets are blue,
    So is the wormhole,
