Anti World Cup Thread

This thread is for anyone who hates football and is dreading these next few weeks (if theres anyone out there...) and sick of hearing about wayne rooney's bl**dy foot.
it might be a bit mean, but frankly i'd like to see england crash and burn just so its over.. and to see the look on everyones faces!

hey, im not saying they should abolish football or anything, i'm just setting up this thread for anyone else who maybe wants to rant a little about it.

Hate football - think theres far more important things the world could cooperate in that a few men kicking a silly ball around the field.
I resent how the News headlines are about the world cup when theres a whole segment of the news dedicated to sport - wtf do we need it in the main news again! *arghhhh*
and surely that Wayne guy can be replaced by someone just as good

Totally agree... and some of the lyrics to the songs are just so aggressive - you know I could understand that language if it was to some radical group of suicide bombers... but fellow fans that support a different team to them...

There is, but they'll never do it, all everyone cares about is no#1, they'll look after no#2 & #3 soemtimes, but only if it's in their best interest...

most people in the US dont give a crap about soccer leagues a.k.a. football, we thinks its too boring to watch i guess.well play it, but if its on tv, chances are well put on somthing else. not enough violence maybe? Americas main (television) sports are football (oval not round ball, and we use hands) baseball, and basket ball. hockey isnt that popular except up north in the canadian border area. Europe does seem to over do the whole world cup, but then again, so do we with the superbowl. im just fed up with the stanly cup. i was rooting for buffalo, but thanks to lousy refs and injured buffalo players, the hurricanes won, and now that the edmonton goalie is out with an injury (oddly convienent) things are gonna be easy for those guys. the sad thing is barley anyone in carolina will car if they win.

I like how you say "Europe" over does the whole world cup thing. Try the rest of the world mate Africa and South America are far worse. The USA hasn't been to bad at it recently they would and should be a lot better at it considering the USA's so called "passion" for sport.


Yawn, american football is about as interesting as watching paint dry. Just a bunch of fat blokes wearing more body armour and crash helmets than a bomb disposal expert! Violent enough? try watching Rugby. Baseball makes test Cricket look interesting! Gawd what a load of crap that is.
