Firefox handles cookies, code, etc much more differently than IE. IE7 was a tremendous improvement over the previous versions, and will only get better. Microsoft has been doing a lot of work on security, and it has also done a lot of work on trying to stabilise their operating system. Because Firefox executes code so much differently than Internet Explorer 6 (the current one that you most likely use unless you downloaded the Beta thru Microsoft's website). Because of this, and because of how Firefox handles everything, it makes it a stronger operating system security wise. Also, the ability to get into the inner workings of the browser via about:config and do things such as pipelining and nglayout.initialpaint.delay, along with finally killing those damn advertisements that seem to be able to sneak by by setting privacy.popups.disable-from-plugins (that's not it exactly but it's very, VERY similar) and setting it to three, therefore banning all popups, including those pesky ones from ebaumsworld (note, I don't actually go to Ebaum's World, I'm just saying that they do kill them). Also, the level of customization via the many, many extensions make it perhaps the best browser of all, minus the Apple made Safari. Though I think Firefox is better than Safari, I use both interchangeably. For regular foruming, I use Safari, for research papers, I use the same. For reading papers and stuff, I use Firefox.
firefox 3 looks very very promising ( it's still in alpha stage) But i have to say that I am honeslty surprised on just how well oepra 9.50 works it's a years worth of work.
