    Star Trek on G4

    From an IMDB e-mail newsletter:

    Mon April 10, 2006

Star Trek 2.0: Premieres Tonight at 11PM ET/PT on G4. Tune In and
    Prosper.

Watch "Star Trek", the original series, as you've never seen it
before with G4's Star Trek 2.0, putting you in command of a Starfleet
of interactive Trek features while you watch. For example, "Beam Me
Up" is a real-time chat room where you can chat about the episode and
see your commentary broadcast live. You can also learn obscure facts,
stories, and little-known insider information about the show while
you keep an eye on "Trek Stats," an ever-growing tally of classic
Star Trek moments (such as Spock saying "illogical" or mounting "Red
Shirt" deaths). There's also the "Spock Market" where you can buy
(and sell) shares of Kirk or McCoy, and watch a real-time Star Trek
Stock Exchange running on the right-hand side of the TV screen
showing the gains and losses of each character's stock as they are
affected by the events in each episode (e.g. Kirk's stock may
increase if he scores with a female character). Star Trek 2.0
    premieres tonight at 11PM ET/PT on G4.

I hate the way that whole thing was being marketed (I don't get G4 and I don't care).....maybe it's the fact that the target audience for almost anything Star Trek seems to be young males.....it makes the female audience feel a little unwelcome (think Star Trek on Spike).....When are people going to realise that girls like sci-fi too, and when will it get marketed to women as well as men?????
I've had this on my mind for ages.....

I was playing it online last night (I appeared as "Abydos" on the TV). But during the second half I was having problems with the Chatting part, and the Spock market was crashing, like all the time.

Right now I'm playing the Spock market. As for Taping Star Trek tonight, not going to happen, I'm too lazy too.
