    oh i was so close..

"Libby and Hurley, i think the porn star angle is a bit too much, she is a shrink and Hurley was once in a hospital, she may have treated him. but anyway he recognised her.. so i doubt she knows about the money, and even if she does its not like he can get cash out at the Cave ATM.."

that was my post from (212) Fire Plus Water.

i didn't see the patient angle comming tho.. make you wonder if she really is a shrink like she said she is.. it will be interesting to see where tgat leads, but the way lost does things id say it will be sometime next season..

what if Libby was under-cover to investigate the way patients are being treated by the doctor... she could really be a FBI agent/doctor... many possibilities...

or maybe I should just stop having a snack before bedtime and all the voices in my head will go away...

They were medicating her, that's usually not a good way to be 'undercover', on psych meds. We have no reason yet to believe she was anything other than a patient.

Thanks, NowIWillDestroyAbydos and ItsDan for those revealing tidbits!

So the numbers were a curse for Hurley long before he played them....

The more I see of this show, the more I'm inclined to see a Cypher style plot to it. (Cool movie with Jeremy Northam,Lucy Liu and, more importantly, David Hewlett. )

A Cherokee elder sitting with his grandchildren told them,
"In every life there is a terrible fight – a fight between two wolves.
One is evil: he is fear, anger, envy, greed, arrogance, self-pity,
resentment, and deceit. The other is good: joy, serenity, humility,
confidence, generosity, truth, gentleness, and compassion."
A child asked, "Grandfather, which wolf will win?"
The elder looked the child in the eye. "The one you feed."

This was the worst episode yet imo. So slow, and nothing much happened...
Science Fiction is an existential metaphor; it allows us to tell stories about the human condition.

Isaac Asimov once said individual science fiction stories may seem as trivial as ever to the blinder critics and philosophers of today, but the core of science fiction, its essence has become crucial to our salvation if we are to be saved at all.

I thought it wasa really interesting episode. They got Henry to talk and it came back to the whole 'im a good person' issue that we have had from when Goodwin was talking with Ana Lucia in The Other 48 Days. Perhaps the Others somehow know about the inside thoughts and minds of the people who are marooned on the island (perhaps throught the black smoke) and then through this they determine who is a 'good' or bad person. Im pretty certain the others do spy on them to determine their actions however this pops up more questions such as why havnt the Others attacked the people from the fuselage. Are they 'good' people. We know from their pasts that they all hold dark secrets.
Hurley is such a great character. His flashbacks are so fascinating (and are the reason I was drawn into the show in the first place). What I liked about this episode was that You couldnt really tell if Dave was an illusion or not until of course the whole Photograph business. I thought he was an illusion to begin with like Jack had the illusions of his father way back in Season 1. And although its an old idea the whole everyone is a dream or part of a dream thing even though its been used in shows before. And I loved that cliffhanger at the end with Libby. She was in that institute aswell. Perhaps we will eventually have a flashback story explaining how or why she was in the institute. Perhaps she was sick, perhaps she was a shrink who couldnt take it.
I dont know but I cant wait to find out.
This season keeps getting better and better. 10/10 again !!!

Have you seen the film Gothica " with Halle Berry .She was a shrink of the Hospital and became a patient in no time . She was not really mad but they were keeping her under sedatives because of her believes . May be something like that happened to Libby ..May be she came to close to a special truth !!!!

or may be they were all mental patients when they boarded the plane except for Sawyer because he is still mental lol . Theyhave all been healed from their conditions and the flasbacks is what they remember before they got ill because to be honest all of them went through things who turned you a bit mental. May be sawyer was the only sane person on board and the Island did the opposite to him and turned him into the mental of the survivors . !!!! :

But, we saw them on the Plane & leading up to the it, None of them really looked 'mental', They all seemed to act normal... Plus, I doubt TPTB would use the Island Healing Device in such a large scope, 1 or 2 people, yes. But not all of them! It would take away the speciality of the Island that way.

Saywer's not Mental! He's just... misunderstood, that's all!

Surely Sawyer can't be that sane .A sane person would never kill an innocent little creature the way he killed that little frog . He is so insensitive . Why did he kill that frog ?!!! he could have listened to Hurley and Hurley would have put it somewhere far away so that it does not disturb Sawyer's sleep any longer

If someone has seen "Gothica "with Hall Berry , then may be Libbie's story is very similar to Halle Berry's character . Halle Berry reacted like she was mad in the movie but in fact , she was not and May be ,Libbie like Halle Berry's character is really a psy who is misunderstood too. Hall Berry had a really hard time to prove to the mental hospital that she was not mad. They really treated her like any mental patients even though she was a very intelligent psychologist just a few days before in that same hospital . Could it be Lizzie's case too ?!!!

Because he likes to be seen as a hard ass and saying "Hurley please take this frog away so that I can sleep comfortably" does not exactly enhance his bad boy image - an image he obviously wants to sustain as evidenced by taking as many supplies as he can and making people trade with him.

It's also probably a way of stressing Sawyers current position as 'Boss' of the group and they are using him killing the frog as a way to highlight his current attitude - 'Screw with me and this is what might happen to you'
