I've recently noticed something very odd.
Earth's point of origin (on the stargate, a device of Ancient design) supposedly symbolises the sun rising over a pyramid. However, the pyramids are landing platforms for Ha'taks, Goa'uld ships, and therefore must be more recent constructs than the stargates.
Why then is the symbol for Earth a pyramid? Earth, homeplanet of the Ancients, whose starfaring antics outdate all other known species in the Milkyway galaxy, has for its symbol a piece of Goa'uld design.
Okay, I realise that this must be because I'm mistaken, or (more likely) because of inconsistencies with the movie's plot and that of the tv series, but still, an explanation please?
[/bemused rant]
