No "The Cage" in Star Trek Season 1?

I just bought Star Trek Season 1. Wtf? Why isn't "The Cage" included in Season One?

And why are they orderd in air date? I want to watched them in production date. The way they were intended!

Okay, should I return it so i can wait for the NEXT re-issue of the series on DVD. AGAIN? Any ideas?

i'm pretty sure its on my copy.
its not the first ep, i believe its the last episode on the last disc of the season.

The Cage was an un-used Pilot, which was rejected by Paramount and never aired on televsion during the show's run. The footage from the Cage was integrated into the Menagerie, parts 1 and 2. Much later, when Trek flourished, the Cage was re-worked (old B&W mixed with color) and released on videotape.

The second pilot, "Where no man has gone before" was shown on TV....

The Cage is on the season 2 or season 3 DVD set. Not sure which, too lazy to go check

you are correct actually.
i just looked at my sets on my shelf.
the Cage - Original version and the restored version are on the last disc of the Season 3 set.
