The Ori Ships Discussion Thread #SPOILERS#

Ok so ive just finished watching camolot, and have noticed a surprising lack of a thread like tthis other than the concept image ones.
So, we know they have some sort of technolgy, because there are plans. but they look like a viking long boat with an active stargate in the back portion.
i was expecting some massive fleet of oniel or celestis/atlantis type superships not the 'long stargate boats'.
is it me or does anyone else think these are nothing more than carriers/ transport vessels, the doci did say that the ship would be built to carry warriors out amoung the stars...nothing about being warships to destroy the unbeliever etc.

transport or not, they are cool looking, albeit odd. just want to see them in action now.

Based on wot I saw in the 'Camelot' preview they def look like warships, I like them aswell, totally original to anythin we've seen b4.

They most diffinenlty look cool. Whats whith the Stargate looking middle? It looks like the a huge power souce like the ball of light in the Proir staffs.

Take this for example:

The Ancients built Atlantis city ships for themselves to use as a home, base of operations etc. However it was not used for war, for that they built warships.

The Ori are the same, the ships are only to deliver the followers, they are designed to land on planets like Chulak etc. Plus to allow it to battle enemy ships as well etc. The Ori aren't going to be travelling in them themselves, nor are Doci etc. Only Priors & followers. The Ori don't exist in physical form, so would have no need to travel in city ships. Hence the reason why the ships don't look like Atlantis.

Actually... I take back those "bedpans of death" or "toilet bowls of death" comments. They look a bit like the Noah's Arc if you really look at it... Not to mention the fact that the Ori ships also resemble that oval with an orb symbol.

So in that case, their ships don't like the Aurora Class vessels of the Ancients either.

My personell opinion on these ships is i really dont like them, i think that the stargate writers could have made alot out of these ships and really had them as a status symbol of the ORI, instead they produce these very simple barges (just a cutback on CGI if you ask me).

However to be honest i did not like the Alteran warbirds, these really didnt ring true to me, they look somhow simlar to the promethous in design... they could at least follow the laws of physics when they are making these "advanced" space craft...

Huh? What are those...like Aurora Class? Those don't really look like warbirds...anyway..Ori ships are distinctively Ori in design...I think they do look like the symbol of "Origin"...and what about those beams!! Reminds me of the Ancient satellite weapons...which...would be another helpful thing to have...But ya, those Ori ships yikes...one shot and a Ha'tak is a pile of debris...It looks like the Asgard and Tauri ships can take more...but how much more...they need Aurora class ships ...

I doubt an Aurora Class ship would fare much better w/out a ZPM.

To fight Ancient tech, you need Ancient tech!

The SuperGate gets blown up, and only 3 of the 4 Ori ships make it to Chulak.

And this pic where Carter is working on an obviously Ancient built device just might provide that one kill.

But the SuperGate is black colored and that thing Carter is working on looks tan colored..... like Puddle Jumper.
