    Flash Drives

    I was just talking to spg_1983 on AIM about how my journal's site went down because of a hard drive failer and then I got into how flash drives are the wave of the future, replacing the hard drive.

    We already have those portable flash drives and now MP3 players (which use flash drives to store your MP3s) have gotten to at least 20GB or higher.

    Do you think we should we toss the hard drive?

    No. Show me a 300+gb flash drive for a similiar price to a magnetic hard disk and then maybe. Also flash drives do have their limitations in how many times you can erase-write each block.

      flash drives only go up to 6gb those 20gb mp3 players have 1.8 inch hard drives

        Flash drives rule. The first sub-100$ laptops supposed to have one.

          I have actually seen a 30GB MP3 plater which is the same size as my old PC. Anyway my flash disk has become corupt and only works when it can be bothered too and tells me its connected to the wrong port. Oh well I'm sure it wil improve when I go get a new one
