F302 upgrades

When are we going to upgrade the F302's the Jaffa owe us one so id like to see some engines on the 302s that dont run out of fuel and some staff weapons in addition to (not replacing) the current missile payloads. also what are the chances of working out the shield tech used on the jumpers if we cant have enough power to make them shields then we could use the cloak element and a even a few cloaked f302s for special missions could make a difference i.e the ships dont see them coming they drop some mines on the big ships before shields are up fly off and boom! it may spoil some elements of the show but it'd be a tad more realistic

Yeah they need to get new engines on all the earth ships that dont run on standard fules but its true about how they can be brought in. As for the staff weapons no need they suck other than the fact they have allot of ammo, they are too slow firing, and in a dog fight the F-302's wepons it is equiped with at the moment are alot better.

What? The death glider staff weapon + railguns + missiles would do a lot more damage on wraith ships then the standard F-302.

If we do upgrade the 302's I think we should add wraith beaming technology to it in order to beam SG-teams, and others off the ground if we need to. We have the beaming device from duet so I would hope to see that tech. on the 302's in the future season.

What the F-302's need is to empty out the cargo section (you know the one tealc used to deploy the replicator disruptor satellite) and put in a rotating cylinder with like 40 AIM-9 missiles and after one fires, it rotates one position. The anti-ship missles like seen in Fallen can be mounted under the wings.

40 sidewinders!!!![your a Robotech fan aren't you] ..I was thinking the same thing when I saw the small cargo bay...it could also hold one of those "space mines", a modified staff cannon, a shield generator or additional fuel pod...

out of all of them having it has a SRM bay would better considering we are always outnumbered with fighters..once again in Robotech[the macross, new generation saga's] earth fighters were give large numbers of small SRM to equal out against the aliens greater numbers, 1. Super Veritech had 15 SRM in each of its external boosters and the Alpha[new generation] had an armament of 60 SRM!!! and a 35mm gunpod and the Beta[heavy fighter bomber] had 40 SRM and LRM hardpoints to suppliment its 3 heavy 80mm pulse cannons...ok im geeking out but its true when your out numbered more homing weapons the better....

In Allies, Sheppard's escort 302s fire their missles at incoming darts to devastating effect now if they were armed with freyr's rotating launching the entire squadron of darts could have been taken out...

Flat out Earth need enegry weapons. Would be really nice to see our ships the few we have and some base defences equiped with some form of enegry weapons. I would even accept something low powered but still more powerful than our railguns.

I agree, it seems kind of pointless having a cargo bay on the F-302s when we have beaming tech. It would only be useful in situations like the dropping of the satellite above the Alpha site. A rotating missile launcher would be alot more useful alot more of the time.

Yes we desperately need energy weapons for the main ships (Deadalus, Oddysee, etc), but not for the F-302s. They need shield generators and a larger armament of missiles, that would make them more capable of taking on large amouts of enemy fighters, which lets face it, there always seems to be.
