    Atlantis's industrial capacity

Since Atlantis is a city, it would be assumed that it would have some industrial capacity of some sort. Why not simply find the fabrication plant for ZPMs/Squid Missiles/Puddle Jumpers, now that they've restored full power?

There have already been several threads on this, but ill throw you a bone. Its too easy and it would ruin the show.

      i think probably becuase

A). the city is very big to explore fully and they havnt found it yet
B). it would indeed make the show to easy
C). Maybe we cant build them with only 1 functioning ZPM (need lot of power to make? just a thought)

oh and you've my friend have made my evening - squid missiles ROFL. lol thats my favourite word now

Why would it be too easy we're supposed to believe the ancients had all this tech and still lost. Plus there's the Ori to contend with now and its doubtful even with the tech it would be easy. There gonna surpass any thing we find on Atlantis neway.

Not necessarily we'd still be the underdogs just underdogs with more toys to play with. There'd still plenty of challenges to over cum especially with the Ori around. Its not like having asgard tech has ruined the show so why would ancient tech. Also Earth as far as we know has the full protection of the ancients weapon system but that hasn't lessned the threat of the Ori

Atlantis donesnthave to have any industrial capacity it could just be a command center and research place and have none or very litte industrial capacity a just depend on other sites to make it's weapons and other tech this would help explane why the wrath could force the Atlantians to leave they where starved out by a large blockade.

Atlantis probably does have alot of industrial capacity but having a machine and knowing how to operate it is very different

                  example
you have a computer that you know how to use, you might even be able to carry out repairs on it yourself. However if you were dropped into a computer factory would you know to build a computer?

I think that they should find this tech, but so that it doesnt ruin the show they should need to do something/have something in order to use it. The problem should be that the tech is on the hive ship
                      Spoiler:
heading for Earth, so they have to find it, get on without being noticed, get the tech and destroy it before they get to Earth

I don't think so. The Ancients had a huge domain and they got beat. We definitely don't have one to exploit such the industrial capacity of Atlantis. And Hoplite, they started the Ancient domain with Atlantis (and its sister cities). It has to have the ability to process raw material into finished goods. I'm suprised they haven't found the hydroponics or whatever they had on the ship. I mean, they couldn't just use Trek-style synhesizers all the way to Pegasus, since I think the Ancients appreciate the aesthetics more than the Federation. (I still think needs to make a search engine for the ancient database)

I agree there's got to be at the very least food synthesizing ability and some, even if limited, manufacturing ability. If the ancients just wanted a place to live they would probably use old tech like stone buildings etc like they did in the MW. The fact that its a flying intergalactic colony with science labs logically they would have some way to apply and manufacture any scientific break throughs such as the personnel shield devices and such. Its quite possible that they had larger manufacturing plants elsewhere, but Atlantis should have some manufacturing ability to deal with the basics such as food, maintence and science.

Plus since we must assume its more advanced than the Asgard manufacturing ability then its likely quite small just reconfiguring matter at the basic level with a one plant build most things type of device. They wouldn't need lots of plants to build all the different tech, although they probably will have specialist construction devices for certain advanced tech I imagine.

If they will have a prayer of unlocking the potential of the Ancients, then they are going to need to know more about the war with the . If the went with a strategic campaign first, then we don't have much hope of finding production centers. But if they went tactical first, then they will find fewer operational ships.
