    Smile Re: Fanfic Recommendations

    Hey

On my website I have some FF Recommendations....they're mostly Sam & Jack and there's usually lots of Angst but with a happy end of course! There're also a couple of Humor Fics in there I loved ...I put short comments in there as well what I thought about the fic.... in case anyone is interested or bored.

I should probably start a new thread for this, but I was feeling lazy :-). So many people seem to be recommending Alli Snow's fiction, especially Sleepers, but I can't seem to find it (the site linked by everyone has been down for months). Does anyone have a copy by any chance?

    Thanks!

I think Aeryn is a brilliant writer. You can find much of her work on GW fan fiction.

I love OzKaren's stuff. I don't know if any of it is archived at Gateworld (obviously an error that needs to be corrected!), but I first came across it at Stargatefan (http://69.13.69.143/ficauthor/OzKaren.shtml) and I've seen them at the Heliopolis. The Medical Considerations are possibly the best fics I've read--and trust me, I read a lot. They tell the aftermath of a few episodes from Janet's point of view. I finished them about two hours before they killed Janet off in Heroes Part II. Sucky timing, but awesome fics. Seriously. She has a wicked sense of humor. In my opinion, the best is number two; it's basically an extended missing scene from Solitudes.

Adding on to what I just said...I found "Go and Catch a Falling Star" by Doc at the Heliopolis and it rocks. REALLY long, but more than worth it. If there was any fic that deserved to be made into an episode (or rather, movie, given the length), this would be it (when you find yourself wondering if they'd let you direct it, you KNOW you've found a winner). The address: http://www.sg1-heliopolis.com/archive/70/goand.html

    ADDED 09/07/04

Just read Alli Snow's From Hereon After (thanks, Skydiver!)...WOW, that was cool. I LOVED the Asgaard! Minor...okay, a goodly amount of ship, humor, and a good storyline...life is complete. http://salmonczar.net/sg1/sg1fic.html

    ADDED 10-04-04

Blue Topaz's His and Hers series is a blast. http://www.geocities.com/bluetopazfic_hisandhers/ They're on the lengthy side, but not too bad. Check them out!

Ooh, thanks! New author! I'm happy!

By the way, I love your fic "Life's Good"--it's my Blue Day remedy. I will never think of Aragorn and Legolas the same way again. (Acorn and Legless...you are sadistic!) "Chit Chat" made me laugh!

A great fic I've come across recently is Force and can be found here

    Force

It's a xover story of Starwars and SG1 and it works really well. It's not finished yet but there's a fair bit posted already, more than enough to get you hooked.

Give it a go you won't regret it

My favourite FanFiction is "Future Imperfect" by Sally Reeve!
For this Fic Sally Reeve obtained the Ship Award 2004 for Best Story, Best Novel, Best UST and Best Pairing-Focussed Story Sam/Jack.

    Future Imperfect - Sally Reeve

Quite long but worth reading! I loved it!

Recently I've read a FanFic called "Ah-Oh"! Guess what was it about!
Yeaaaah, SG-1 meets little odd creatures with antennas on the top! ROFL

I enjoy LE McMurray's fics. She mostly writes Daniel angst, Daniel/Sha're romance, angst, AU stories. They're here on Gateworld.

Check out my two stories while you're there in the L's. Yep, I know that was shamless self-promotion. But if you can't promote yourself, then who can you promote?

Someone mentioned the WIP "Force" on this list and also gotten into crossover fics in general lately. I've yet to read anything by Laney that isn't amazing. She has several stories that stargate focused - she's got a great muse for making realities collide -- which is the name of her website! http://www.realitiescollide.com

For a bit of the off-the-beaten track character focus - check out "Fragile Existence" as it stars mini-Jack attending Sunnydale High in the season 7 time frame of btvs.

However, I think my favorite is the "Heroics" Series which takes place AU post BtVS and stars a Lt. Rosenberg and our favorite archeologist. The fic's even got Kawalsky in it.

    Re: Fanfic Recommendations

    Hi
I've kinda gotten addicted to fanfics over the last two months, and I'm trying to find gen fics concentrating mostly on team based stuff,(I'm a bit shocked with how much is actually out there). Anyway I'm into action/adventure humor etc (non ship) and maybe with a bit of a focus on Daniel.
So far I've liked Denise, Eve and dietcokechick.

    Any recommendations?

P.S. This is my first post ever!!!!

    So hello to everyone.

    HI Imo

    Welcome.

Well, if you're looking for fic with more of a daniel focus, then i'd suggest taking a look at the fic archived at www.stargatefan.com

There should be no ship there and many of the authors that like that archive have a preference for Daniel so it might give you a good place to start
