perhaps it was more a case of worry over their future missions, Oneil could be lost next, Daniel was the difference between many missions being disasters and succeeding, saving their lives because of his unique viewpoint they wont have on future missions etc,

aside from all the humane and team together aspects, his loss increases thier failure potential to the point they could die or be captured, could fail missions that lead to earth succumbing to unknown disasterous ends or being captured or taken over by unknown big bads,

or even by minor bads since even the minor bads have technology earth cannot counter etc

Like Daniel is cementing their mortality. They aren't as invincible as they think. It puts their feet firmly back on the ground and perhaps it makes them realize that, yes that are still mortal beings who could get hurt beyond repair or die on a mission.

And I end the season 5 puzzles with a moderate time of 07:35.

Onwards, passed the halfway point, and into season 6...

AT is hiding in the corner of the picture when Sam shows up later as a hologram.

"I was hoping for another day. Looks like we just got a whole lot more than that. Let's not waste it."

"Never underestimate your audience. They're generally sensitive, intelligent people who respond positively to quality entertainment."

"Individual science fiction stories may seem as trivial as ever to the blinder critics and philosophers of today, but the core of science fiction, its essence, has become crucial to our salvation, if we are to be saved at all."
