clearly the ninth chevron will be used.
the people did say that stargate universe will involve the ninth chevron.
maybe if there was an enemy, it would be the furlongs, they have turned bad or that there is a faction that is bad =)

dialing the 9th will probably include multiple stargates.


you dial the 9th.
a gate in the first seeded galaxy by the ship activates, and directly forwards the wormhole to the next. this continues untill they are at the ship [how else can you track it?]

i dont think it would include the macro thing coz the atlanteans never used that, they always had enough power for trips through the stargate.

ok, so we all know there are 9 chevrons on the gate, and since atlantis we have discovered what the 8th one does, but what is the purpose of the 9th? could we work t=on the same theory as the 8th chevron, that it boosts wormhjole distance? or could it be something else like alternate realities or even time travel? after all not everything is known about the gate yet
