Serenity vs. Firefly

I'm glad to hear that I won't have to have seen the series to enjoy the movie. I ended up being able to watch the pilot recently and found it very interesting. Just for fun... If there was one episode that you felt should definitely be watched before the movie -- which would it be?

Out of Gas... is good in that it gives a lot of backstory...
But I think the "Serenity" pilot is better in terms of getting people into the movie and the general feel of the premise.
My personal favourite is Ariel... but I like a good heist story...

I'm already a Sci-fi fan (hence hanging out at the GW forums ) so I plan to be very open minded about the movie. My friends, sadly, are not so they're going to be a harder sell.

It's not a hardcore scifi show... think of it as an action adventure... with a bit of a western feel. There are NO rubber suited aliens in sight...

Sweet. I'll try and catch Out of Gas or Ariel before Sunday, which is when I've planned to go see it with my friends.
