    Definitely one of my favourites.

" I am alive. I will always be alive! It's Marritza who's dead! Marritza, who was good for nothing but cowering under his bunk and weeping like a woman. Who every night covered his ears because he couldn't bear to hear the screaming... for mercy... of the Bajorans..."

Every time I see him start to break down it brings a tear to my eye. The actor did an amazing job creating that character who was so determined to pay for the crimes of others because he couldn't live with the memories of what he saw and heard.

What is it about the Cardassians being such compelling characters? "The Wire" where Garak's head chip starts to malfunction is another epic masterpiece. Then "Waltz" with Sisko Stranded with a mad Dukat.
Please do me a huge favour and help me be with the love of my life.

Also great episodes. Waltz is one of my favourites in the whole series.

God I hate "Valiant" so much. Bunch of spoiled, pompous teenagers.

As the only actually commissioned officer on the ship, Nog should have taken command the moment he came aboard.

I bet the kids would mutined. Which is unrealistic for a future military but this is the least of the problems for this episode

Yeah, there were many...it's also weird to me that they had such an off-kilter, bad episode in an otherwise pretty phenomenal season. Season 6, to me, may have the single best ratio of any Star Trek season for episodes that were anywhere from "good" to "phenomenal."

Incidentally, I just finished Season 6. DS9 always did great finales, but man Tears of the Prophets is just such an incredible gutpunch of an episode.

Just to go back to Valiant, I rewatched it the other day and It’s always been one of those episodes I find both compelling and annoying in equal measure.

The concept is good. But I feel it really does a dis-service to Nog who after serving with Sisko for about a year and a half by that point and having known him for far longer, should have recognised how dangerous Waters was right off the bat. Some of it was still cool. I mean Waters was given a field commision to Captain, so even as a graduate of the Academy Nog couldn’t tenchically overrule that decision. Giving Nog the post of Chief Engineer could have still happened the same way, but Nog should have listened to Jake when he realised something was off about the crew and it should have culminated in Nog going to the Bridge and basically saying “No. You guys are all Cadets. I am an officer and I am taking command of this ship.” and because of the cult of personality Waters had built up Nog gets escorted off the Bridge and taken to Brig with Jake.

But that would have provided a great character moment for Nog since we know from Paradise Lost that he idolised the Red Squad Cadets, and he just gets a defining moment where he realises “hey, you know what. I don’t need to be one of these guys because I’m already better than them.” And the rest of the episode could have played out the same way with Nog even telling Jake to still write his story from both viewpoints of Waters being both a fool and a great man.

I'd really rather they didn't, personally.

Got home from seeing the documentary a few minutes ago. Man, I loved it. Really nice reminiscing, a bit of behind-the-scenes storytelling, an accessible dive into the technical issues of remastering footage, one or two deeply personal moments (at least one that really shocked me), and the writers' room imagining of a Season 8 premiere.... One thing that I found really jaw-dropping is that they had a chunk of the Sacrifice of Angels space battle CGI redone from scratch, so seeing that non-blurry, in modern VFX, and on a 40-foot screen, wow.

Great stuff all around, I'm glad I saw it.

This Month in Trek: Props, Pride, Pics, and 'Pose' on Star Trek's website happened to feature a picture of DS9 made out of 75,000 Legos. Here is a direct link to the Instagram post: https://www.instagram.com/p/By0lAeNl...ource=ig_embed

Robert Hewitt Wolfe just tweeted out photos of his map of Bajor, from the DS9 writers' room back in the day.

From Star Trek Las Vegas Con:
#stlv @MikeOkuda is “still hopeful” for DS9 and Voyager Blue Rays. Says there is interest at CBS. But, it’s a much more difficult process than you might imagine!
