I am! Love that movie! Classic spot on spoof of everything Sci Fi! Oh yes, Alan Rickman, he's one of my favourite actors too! "By the hammer of Grabthar!!!!"

I love the Stargate Movie spoof at the beginning of this scene where the Pig Lizard is licking Tim Allen's face! The results with the Pig Lizard and the transporter are hilarious and one of my favourite parts of what is just an all round fantastic movie. "....and it exploded!"

Galaxy Quest rocks. Tony Shaloub as Fred Kwan and Enrico Colantoni as Mathesar were hilarious. I was hoping they would have done a sequel where the gang is called back to action to save the galaxy.

Sisko was hardly my favorite character from DS9 during its original run. But with all the times I have re-watched the entire series - he has grown to be favorite character from any Trek series. Data is probably my second favorite Trek character of all time

I was saying to Carson'sKitty that when the 'credits' run for the 'next generation-style' show at the end...I really wish it existed.

DS9 is so chalk full of great and memorable characters it's hard for me to pick just one favorite. I would probably rank Sisko #3 of my DS9 list. I agree with you about Data - I don't have him ranked as my favorite Trek character of all time, but he is in my top 5 from any scifi series.

that is one reason I enjoy spoofs... they laugh at what we (well,some of us anyway!

) take waaaay too seriously. The funniest ep of SG1 is "200"... what a riot to see them spoof not just themselves but other scifi shows.

DS9 Season IV Episode Discussion
Episode #79 Little Green Men

"Little Green Men" is rather adventurous and semi-funny - it is not really my cup of tea. While Behr and Wolfe deliver the comic one-liners with reasonable pace and effectiveness, there's only so much they can do, and there's just not enough momentum here to make up for the obvious lack of relevance the episode has to the series. On the other hand, even if the episode isn't really exciting, it is entertaining enough to chew through an hour. Armin Shimerman, Max Grodenchik and Aron Eisenberg all deliver adequate portrayals of Quark, Rom, and Nog respectively.

There are a number of shining moments, such as the parody on technobabble early in the episode when Rom explains a convoluted way to save the ship from accelerating out of control. I also like the way Nog tells the military officers exactly what they want to hear - that the Ferengi are aliens preparing a massive invasion of Earth. (It's funny how back in the '40s the only possible explanation for why aliens would visit Earth was because they wanted to conquer us. In the '90s, now they just want to con us out of a quick buck). Best of all is Nog's line to Quark, "Have you heard of the Bell Riots?" and his amazement to how much Gabriel Bell looks like Captain Sisko. That goes down as one of the best inside jokes of the series.

The plot is pretty much by-the-numbers. Odo turns up to keep Quark in check. There are also, of course, a couple of sympathetic scientists that help the Ferengi escape the military's clutches. A little to convienant. I give it a 7.1 rating.

this is such a fun episode.... ferengi as the roswell aliens! Wonderful! A sabotaged ship! Odo keeping an eye on Quark! Rom escorting Nog to starfleet academy. "insidious mind control powers" I loved Worf buying the ferengi tooth sharpener!

a fun episode that allows us to laugh at ourselves.

I always found it strange that Odo had actually followed them all the way there. You'd think that the station's security would be more important than keeping Quark in check...

Anyways, it's a good hour of fluff. 7.5 from me.

That's a cool memory. The first episode I ever saw of DS9 was the premiere The Emissary, which tells you how old I am.

I remember Little Green Men vividly. It is a still a big hoot to rewatch today. I loved how they showed a fairly accurate/campy portrayal of a chain smoking paranoid nuclear America. I actually remember smiling ear to ear when Quark decided that staying with knowledge of the 24rth century would mean power and wealth for him on Earth at that time.

Exactly, but I guess you can deduce that Odo finally had the chance to catch Quark red handed so he could put him away for good.

Exactly, but I guess you can deduce that Odo finally had the chance to catch Quark red handed so he could put him away for good.

As fifth race has pointed out in the past... the role of General Denning was played by Charles Napier.... Adam in "The way to Eden" from TOS. The chain smoking America is not one that I miss. I was raised by smokers (and had asthma...go figure!) and enjoy smoke free air today just about everywhere.
I agree Weyoun.... I think Odo saw Quark as one of the greatest dangers to DS9.

I find it funny that the last Trek I watched is my favorite. I didn't see the show until Spike got the rights to DS9. I remember being on Spring Break and watching the huge week marathon DS9 the channel was airing, I miss those days

Didn't see the last season properly till we got the DVDs, BBC2 mucked about with it terribly, shifting the time about, and putting it on at all sorts of unearthly hours of the night. I was an unhappy trekkie.
