I’m doing 7km in a Gorilla suit!

Yes, really. On the 25th September I’m going to be taking part in The Great Gorilla Run in London. I’ll be one of 650 people taking part: a number that represents the number of Mountain Gorillas remaining. The run raises money for the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund, which helps gorillas, and the people that share their home areas.

I realise right now a lot of people have other priorities, so there is also something you can do if you don’t feel you can give money. I’m currently running some eBay auctions, all of which are 10% to the fund. I’m also doing one special, fun one from which all profits will go to the fund. Of course you are welcome to bid on them… but if you don’t feel you can, then please visit the one below and put it on you ‘watch’ list. You can do this even if you are not an eBay member. If I get enough people ‘watching’ this auction it will go into eBay Pulse, which will give it extra publicity. There are instructions to put it on ‘watch’ at the auction.

I saw some photos of the last run at an exhibition over in Spitalfields a couple of weeks back so to I actually know what you're talking about (rare for me to be so clued up), looks like a lot of fun and for a good cause too

Yeah, I'm actually hoping to do the London Marathon next year, and was looking for a 'sensible' shorter race to do first. But when I saw this I had to! There's a gallery of photos on the Dian Fossey site: link on one of those links I've posted...

Current news: I’ve heard too that they’ve actually signed up 750 people to do it, and we’ve all got to do a form for the world record attempt (most gorillas in one place!) I’ve never been part of a world record before! I’ve still been using a crutch some of the time this week (I badly sprained my ankle about two and half weeks ago), but then I’ve also been walking on it far too much… I’ve currently confined myself to my flat for a couple of days to try and get it well and truly up to doing the event! Just have to take the crutch if not!
