And its usually bad. Stargate writers can't writes ships. The fans aren't any better. I know that might anger some people but its been my observation about the majority of fanfic

I don't have trouble separating the actors from the characters they play. When I read fan fiction, I see the characters, but they aren't the actors. Which is why ship doesn't bother me (although I rarely read for ship, since I don't see the characters that way).
This may also be why I rarely like Stargate/MacGyver crossovers. Jack and Mac would hate each other (each stands for something the other abhors); why would I want to read a story featuring that kind of relationship?

A slightly dark episode with all the suicides and death, it got increasingly tense towards the end and paid off tragically well. The zatarak device was kind of finicky/unreliable, I bet that disappeared along with Anise after this episode. I don't think we ever see SGC checking incoming visitors for reetous, metamorphic aliens or mind controlled people in the future.. unless it's done covertly somehow.
