On Galactica,' division works against survivors

    From The Mobile Register:

On Galactica,' division works against survivors

    By Mike Brantley

I've commented on how Mary McDonnell's character in the Sci Fi Channel update of "Battlestar Galactica" adds a new component to the show, as she plays the civilian president who provides checks and balances that the 1970s show's Cmdr. Adama (the late Lorne Greene) never had to bother with.

But McDonnell's President Roslin is one of the new show's more intriguing twists. With Adama having declared martial law in the fleet and Roslin at the lead of a revolt against what she considers a military coup -- and the Cylons attacking and infiltrating as only they can -- things have gotten downright interesting.

The division among the surviving humans hurts their efforts to stay one step of the Cylons, to be sure, but it certainly makes for good drama.
