Like I wrote about part 2, Sam isn't my favourite character, so this Sam-centric two-parter isn't one I get excited about. Even so, I think it was well executed and was happy that they did it because it furthered so many other stories that I really do enjoy. I'd give it a....hmmm...5/10?

    ^only a 5/10!!!*gasps*
i really liked this ep. i wish jolinar had tried 2 xplain more about herself; maybe they would have let her go. i suppose it's better the way it ended up though.

Sam isn't my favorite character either, but I really liked this two parter. I'm not a fan of the relationship between Martouf and Sam, but I can say that I really like Martouf by himself. It did further a lot of stories, just off hand they brought back Apophis and Selmak. Most importantly though it was one of the first episodes to get Goa'uld technology off the ground. After this we see Transportation rings, the Tel'tak, and death gliders on a regular bases.

Yes I agree that this wasn't a 5 out of 10 episode more like a 7 out of 10. However, I don't think it would have mattered if Jolinar would have tried to explain herself in "In the Line of Duty". It wasn't until we get the character witness, Samantha Carter that we begin to understand the Tok'ra.

AT's acting is quite good and i enjoyed seing the Tok'ra once again. Sokar was the first bad guy that really impressed me. Pure evil looking guy and the Jaffa costumes were let's say interesting. Was kind of expecting Na'onak to actually be Apophis. Still, he lost most of his charm, if he ever had any. Oh, and Sokar did a great job in transforming Netu.

I don't know about Sokar, he definitely was scary, but he didn't have the presence of Apophis or Anubis. I found it extremely interesting to see that even without his army of Jaffa Apophis could still inspire the men around him to join his cause. Despite the fact that Apophis doesn't have the satanic vibe of Sokar he is a really bad guy who knows his business. Apophis will always be the original bad guy, it was his vain nature which made this episode so ironic and memorable.

Sokar is simply a side note.

The yellow, gooey stuff leaking from Bynarr's eye gave me the willies.

I don't think you realize what you are typing... I think you mean "pus like", change it quick before someone else looks at it and gets offended.

    Gotta go watch the continuation.

    I really enjoyed the episode.

The whole idea of Sokra has been a pretty interesting one, he is just so evil and this taking on the persona of the devil does make him a Goa'uld who frightens me.

A very dark direction for Stargate to head into but the special effects, props, set design department especially have to be commended for making it look like literal hell.

I love how Jack called Martouf, Marty.

Apophis making his come back, another reason I love this episode.

in the episode where apophis was rescued by sg1 and brought back to earth they questioned whether sokar was human or a unas. i wish they would of made him a unas, that would of been extremely interesting.

Good episode. Lot's of action, and very interesting stuff. Also, the ending was surprising, though i was sure that we would see Apophis again, but i wasn't expecting it to happen this soon. Tomorrow i watch the conclusion of this two-part episode. Looking forward. So far season 3 has been awesome

    That describes my reaction exactly!

And best quote, when they found Jacob in the pit on Netu:
    Jacob: "Am I dreaming?"
    Carter: "No. No, we’re real."
    Jacob: "Are you crazy?"
    O'Neill: "Uh, apparently."

the only thing i didn't get about this episode was how come selmak was dying? besides that i loved it and sokar reminds me of the bad guy from james bond die another day, it's funny to think that sokar may have been what they based the look of the bad guy. shame it was a terrible film

"Of course, it makes sense. The Goa'uld impersonating the Devil would naturally create a place like Netu. Netu is from the book of Am-Taut which is kind of a how-to guide on passage through the ancient Egyptian otherworld regions. And many of those regions are described as dark places with pits of fire—home to hellish monsters and the damned."

Gee, thanks Daniel. Now I'm all sorts of excited to go to this place.

In one of her flashbacks, Sam was making cookies. They made me hungry.
