    They have a thing with rotating moons and reusing backgrounds. Although I can fully grasp that reusing reduces costs as opposed to creating a new background each episode.

      Exactly. As long as I don't notice it, I don't care. Just sometimes I wish they would have put more effort into digital alien lifeforms, trees etc. Or just simply to see a different landscape (like giant cactuses) and not only the pine forest. But we can explain that the Ancients loved these trees when they created and spreaded life in the galaxy.

        IMO, they worked harder at presenting a variety of environments in the first season (remember the sulfur dunes?) than later. They just passed it off with "trees again."

          I am still surprised how many large sets were built in season 1-2 only for standalone episodes. That was the real golden Glassner era. Then the special effects have gone up, the sets were reduced etc.

                In at least one episode of SGU, the filming was done in Arizona or New Mexico in the desert.
