Of course, his father wasn't in the US Army; he was in the Welsh Guards. Walter - along with his triplet brothers, Norman and Harriman, his half-brother Paul and his sister...um, 'Technician' - came over to the states, naturalised, joined the Air Force and infiltrated the SGC in order to control it on behalf of the Welsh organised crime syndicates.

Because the Welsh run the SGC. You know that, right?

Col. Sandurz: Prepare for light speed.
Dark Helmet: No, no, light speed is too slow.
Col. Sandurz: Light speed too slow?
Dark Helmet: Yes, we'll have to go right to...Ludicrous speed!
Col. Sandurz:Ludicrous speed! Sir, we've never gone that fast before. I don't think the ship can take it.

Or four people if they're music stars such as Madonna, Cher, Sting, Prince, etc.

About a month ago, I ran across this:

Gary Jones will make a guest appearance on "Stargate:Atlantis".
Asked if he would be back for season 8 of Stargate SG-1 or for an
appearance on "Stargate:Atlantis", Gary Jones answered:

"Upcoming I'm doing an ep of sg: atlantis as my character from sg:1.
i'm now sergeant walter harriman. there's even a reference to my
character's name in the atlantis script."
Although his jump suit says otherwise...

he started out as harriman davis thanks to a mess up in the closed cpationing that turned Airman into Harriman, but it was never canon

then they went for Walter, rumor has it after Walter, Radar O'Reilly of MASH fame
but then a name search revealed taht there already was a real Walter Davis in the air force, so it was changed to Norman (which you see on calendar pics)

in reality, Walter has a deep dark secret. he's one of a set of identical triplets

            Walter Davis
            Harriman Davis
Norman Davis......and they keep forgetting who's working on any indivudual day

Triplets... that stirs up some very interesting possibilities.

It also shows just how badly we need an ep about him, to sort all this stuff out and to give Chevron Guy the attention he deserves.

Of course, one of them is evil; it's just that no-one has ever been sure which. Most people would bet on Harriman, but the smart money's on Norman; it's always the quiet ones you know.

Well, with a name like Norman you know there's gotta be SOMETHING wrong with him.

He'd fit perfectly into an ep titled something like: "What goes on at the SGC outside of SG-1."

He and Luke could be the focus of the episode.

Don't forget Siler and Major Wood, and Simmons, and Lt. Rush.

There's a thread in the S8 folder about A Day in the Life where people wax wistful about what they'd like to see in terms of a glimpse into the lives of the other characters on Stargate. Wally, Luke and Siler are all definitely metioned, as is Maj. Wood and I think Simmons. But no one likes Lt. Rush. We can just forget all about her.

Not that I'm biased or anything... hehe
