    One question.

What happened to the DHD that was in this episode? I know the Giza one was located by the Russians, but this is the Antarctica DHD...which oddly enough just...vanishes? o.O

I watched Shades of Grey yesterday (the one where Jack pretends to nick technology) and Captain/Major/Private or w/e Newman said he had been on of the guys with the touchstone escaping through the gate in da crate (great rhyme)

I checked over this episode and i coukdnt' recognise him, which one is he

At the end, when Maybourne says that "strange things happen in high places", I always wish that Jack had responded with "Yeah. Like altitude sickness." Ah, in my fantasies...

And, lets face it, is there a more deserving candidate for it than Maybourne?

Nope. I can't think of one either.

As a bit of a nitpick in this episode...

If you look real close at the video footage shown of the flooding in the USA at the start being watched in the contol room by Jack, Daniel and Teal'c....

Isn't that what looks very much like an old Ford Fiesta, Suzuki SJ4** Jeep and a Rover Montego (80's / 90's UK Cars) driving through what is supposed to be a flooded American street?

Or are my eyes plaing tricks on me?

I believe it was the S6 episode "Frozen".
Yes, I really do look like (a younger) Daniel. Don't believe me? Look for yourself.

Whoa...kind of scary. What if you were on a world whose DHD died?

    Ooh! Plot bunny!

    No, indeed they aren't!

I went back and had a look myself - and it's true! I'm pretty sure that there's a Ford Cortina poking out of the waters in the background of the previous shot where the people in the rowing boat are being evacuated.
