I was thinking of "National Intelligence Department," but you could be right.

There are many things that this acromyn could stand for, it could mean "Nobodys' Interesting Dollhouse."

Actually, I just thought of one even more suiting than National Intelligence Department, or Division, how about "Negligible Intelligence Department, or Division."

The point is it could be many things, even though National Intelligence Department or Division seems likley, that does not make it so.

It was originally supposed to be NAD - "Not A Department"...but TPTB though NID sounded better. The GDO is a similar use of humor. GDO - "Garage Door Opener"
