ugh, wow, those are hard to read, especially the right side, most of my right side stuff is just guessing:

Originally I thought I was on to something with the first button when I thought the a was an l (Which would have made it 'lock' backwards.), but it turns out that the l is actually an A rotated 180.

I'm the BOYD in the text on the door controllers.
I was the person responsible for the Ancient font design, which was actually a reworked version of a typeface drawn up by art department member Ivana Vasak for SG1, Torment of Tantalus.
I had no idea my name was used on the door graphics but I think I know who and which department is responsible.
I'll be sure to ask around when we get back from hiatus in a couple of weeks.

Oh, and another question: Why is is that F/U and J/R symbols in Ancient are interchangeable?

Obviously I'm somewhat limited in what I'm allowed to say, hope you understand.
I can't help with the translatons on SGU, I transferred from the art department to our construction facility a few yeas ago (know around here as Gateworks) to handle the CNC aspect of set building.
Being in this end of the production we rarely get a glimpse of the "big picture" so I really don't know, nor could I say how the Ancient text plays in SGU.
I likely won't get to see the finished fist episode until just beore the world premiere, kinda' frustrating considering how long and hard we've been working on SGU.
Judging by what I have seen, I think you'll approve of the new series.

encrypted into the video game puzzle Eli had to solve.

So, I found it pretty cool that Eli was playing a version of Stargate Worlds in the pilot, but when I freeze-framed to try and figure out what the ancient in the video game said, I got this:

I love to translate the Ancient texts

I split the text in to 9 parts because the star covered some letters

(because the inner door writing starts their either)
