You know, if he didn't involve Continuum, then I'd hazard a guess that he was criticising the supposed lack of creativity by starting the show in a desert like what happened in SG1 (which is a strange complaint, since there are only so many landforms that occur on a habitable world, and SG has done most of them).
I'm not sure which desert he's talking about. We know the show spends some time in the White Sands, which is pretty damn unique compared to any ole' regular desert we've seen in the past. Are there deserts before that?
