If anyone has brought speculation about what I'm about to ask, please point me to the right page.

What other species in the galaxy is attacking the Icarus base? I mean Goa'uld are gone, Ori are peaceful (we think), and it just doesn't make sense!

Is it an attack? Maybe it's a ship that's crashed into the base and forcing the crew to evac?

Update:

Things are going to be very quiet at The Bridge for a while as production of the show shifts to New Mexico. Andy Mikita, who‘s already there, sent some great pics of the location gate at White Sands. Hopefully, him and the rest of the gang won’t suffer a repeat of the location scout scenario that saw their truck give out on them in the middle of nowhere, causing them to weigh the option of hiking the twelve miles back to civilization before eventually being rescued (Thank you, OnStar!). And, hopefully, I’ll be able to share those location gate pics with you in time - but, in the meantime, here’s a behind-the-scenes snap from the two-hour premiere, Air I and II - actors David Blue and Chris McDonald on the Icarus set, Stage 5.

Answer: For now, it’s a one-time distant location shoot for one episode - Air III.

Well the attack is rumored to be done by the Lucian Aliance , remenber that they are still out there and have no love for earth, and if they did find out about a secret base of earth, the first thing they would do is attack and leave nothing behind.

Actually, the Lucian Alliance was mentioned as the possible attacker in dialogue from the early audition sides.

True. That rumor started because SOMEONE said that the 304 in orbit is fighting off a couple of Goa'uld motherships, while troop transports get by and land. So, it all started from there. Of course, it could just as easily be the Jaffa, those ungrateful *******s, sice they have control over most of the System Lords' fleets, thus motherships and troop transports.

Update:

Hey, I spoke to Robert Cooper this morning. He’s back from his week in New Mexico which he described as “Hot!”. He’s incredibly happy with the footage they got and made special mention of the cast who maintained a positive and professional attitude throughout despite the eyeball-sizzling/shoe-melting/hair-igniting conditions.

I was wondering if one of the ways they get air onto the Destiny so they can breathe is entering the Destiny into the atmosphere of a planet & letting the air into the ship or taking oxygen into it's oxygen tanks?

I also thinking if they grew plants on the Destiny in a botany lab or something it could help provide air that way (as well as food! )?

We concluded the night by heading down to the theater room where we watched – not a movie but the editor’s cut of Air III. Wow! Those white sands look amazing. It was Fondy’s first exposure to SGU and she enjoyed the episode immensely. Her favorite character: Sgt. Ronald Greer. My wife is now a confirmed Jamil Walker Smith fan.
