But we can explain that the Ancients loved these trees when they created and spread life in the galaxy.
In at least one episode of SGU, the filming was done in Arizona or New Mexico in the desert.

I am still surprised how many large sets were built in season 1-2 only for standalone episodes. That was the real golden Glassner era. Then the special effects have gone up, the sets were reduced etc.

IMO, they worked harder at presenting a variety of environments in the first season (remember the sulfur dunes?) than later. They just passed it off with "trees again."

They have a thing with rotating moons and reusing backgrounds. Although I can fully grasp that reusing reduces costs as opposed to creating a new background each episode.

The pinkish moon was rotated and reused from the 3x07 Deadman’s switch.

Also makes for good trailers -- explosions and the like.

That would require a lot of remodeling in the bathroom

    Get a bigger tub.

Or do as I do occasionally, due to long limbs -- stick those feet out. Except when the cat's around cause he likes to catch the toes and sharp nails are not my best friend...
