Sam Carter/Jack O'Neill Ship Appreciation Thread

OK, I don't get it. What's the significance of the iPods?

They posted this:

Thought of gifts finally! Ipods to each other!

They would load their 5 favorite songs that remind them of each other, and I'm gonna list only a couple:

From Sam to Jack, her fave songs would be
1) Merry Christmas, Darling (The Carpenters), especially when he's in DC and she's not. And
2) Love Reign O'er Me (The Who) when she's on her way home thinking of him. Sam might even have a Broadway tune like "I Don't Know How to Love Him" from Jesus Christ Superstar; it covers the angst I thought she'd have with thoughts of Jack as other than her boss.

From Jack to Sam (and Daniel will probably help him load the songs!) his would be
1) Simply Irresistible (Robert Palmer) cause, well she is to him. And
2) Every Little Thing She Does (The Police). Think I'll add Sam's Love Reign O'er Me cause he'll be burning rubber to CO at times, too.

And of course iPods hold obscene numbers of songs, so they'd have to make a little game of picking out the ones special to them. Rewards? D'uh! Besides being in retro -mode with music (The Who was in town recently!) I kind of stall when picking out presents which is why I still have to shlepp downtonw tomorrow to finish up.

I've always thought that was "all she wanted for Christmas" They could also record messages to each other and keep them loaded on their ipods. That way, when Sam is offworld, they could still wish each other good night. Maybe they'd even record each other 'books on tape' for those long offworld trips just so they could hear each others voices before bedtime... *quick mental image of Sam sitting up watching the stars on same alien planet listening to Jack's voice through her earphones*

And of course, they've had them for awhile, but *that's* what she left (spoilers for Quest and The Return)

in the box during 'The Quest', and his got ruined in the water on Atlantis, so Santa had to replace 'em this year

Geez, she's already got the one doohickey that matters.... Um.. Same for fishing gear, I believe . You know, marital property and all that...

I'll venture two guesses. Then, we can keep adding to the list:
I think Sam got Jack...the latest Simpsons DVD release.

I think Jack got Sam...a digital photo frame to take along on missions,
so she can keep photos of them with her when she's off-world.

Sam will get Jack herself
And Jack will get Sam himself

The Continuation....

Sam leaned her head against the door of his cabin, her coat wrapped tight around her and her face flushed with cold. She had come to visit her partner in his north Minnesota hideaway, but he didn't seem to be opening the door.

It was chilly, far too cold for snow, but the light powder from a few days previous still lingered on the ground.

Unable to hear a response, Sam felt her heart beating quicker, anything could have happened to the head of Homeworld security, especially when he was holed up on his own like this.

She started to creep around the back of the cabin, her eyes and ears on alert for signs of foul play, but nothing seemed to be amiss, not even any footprints in the snow.

Upon reaching the back door, the blonde twisted it slowly, pushing the door open and cringing as it creaked loudly, announcing her presence.

No sign of Jack in the living room, no sign of Jack in the kitchen. What if someone had beamed him away? She jogged through the building to the bedroom, noting the chill, as if noone had lit a fire in several days.

"JACK!" She scolded as she saw him.

"Carter," he replied automatically, not so much as lifting his eyes in greeting.

Sam sighed and flopped down on the bed, running a hand through her short, blonde hair. "Don't. Don't even say it. You're on TremeWorld again, aren't you?"

"Yupp," he told her excitedly, now looking at her with a look of pure joy and exhiliration. "It's SHIPMAS TWO!"
