Ya gotta try and keep in mind that although AT is British by birth, Canadian by citizenship, Sam Carter is 100% all american girl... so was this just an actress promo or was Sam posing for the USAF calendar?

Does it really matter?? I wouldn't care if she wrapped herself in the American, or Canadian or even the Australian flag...she's gorgeous and she does it justice...IMHO!!

Have you ever seen the Hamster Dance vid?? That is sooo funny...I love watching it...now everytime my son puts that song on I can see SG1 and all the funny behind the scenes mayhem!!

I have to agree! It doesn't offend me to see her wrapped in an American flag. It wouldn't offend me to see anyone burning an American flag, either. But at least in AT's case, she's doing something beautiful with the flag and isn't defacing it any any way. The photos are pieces of art to me.

New game: Things I like best about Jack and Sam's relationship.

I like that she is always trying to get people to see she is a soldier and scientist who happens to be a woman and he insists on treating her like a woman who happens to be a *amned good soldier and scientist... His concern is always for the former, the latter can take care of themselves .

Okay, this is sort of OT - although S&J are involved - but since we're family, I'm hoping you all will help.

Oma was wonderful enough to make me not one, but two beautiful new signatures including a photograph of a rainbow I took on the way home frmo work one day. (I'd never seen one so distinctive, and it was even a double.) Anyway, I can't choose between the two, so I'm hoping you'll help.

LOL, Chelle, I think you've been had! Your hubby probably used the convo threat to get his boat. Oh, well, it will be worth it for you and Nikki to have your SG weekend alone. The two of you can talk ship all weekend long without any interuptions.

I'm not sure exactly who's been had!! If he gets the boat then he goes on his trip and I get my weekend...if he gets the boat that also means we have our own boat to go fishing in...which I'm very happy about...I actually enjoy fishing with the hubs...last time we went out fishing I caught a red fin...poor hubs got nuthin!!!
Besides it's another excuse for me to say "hey...you got the boat...so I now I get the VIP tickets to see Amanda!!!"...(fingers crossed she comes out next year!)...I think either way I win!!

To reply to the person who wanted to know whether to watch seasons 9 amd 10 well...for what it is worth...my opinion. Yes, I agree that it is now a different show. Have I enjoyed this different show, NO. It doesn't just feel different (to me), it is different. Is season 10 better. You have to ask yourself...better than what? The only answer would be...better than season 9. (which in itself is damned by faint praise) Bad writing, cliche characters, boring enemy and in regards to Sam and Jack, it must be pretty subtle because, to quote Jack O'Neill, "I'm sorry, I must have missed an episode." My advice, watch the first episode. If you absolutely hate it...well...hopefully you have seasons 1-8 on DVD's. It hasn't been cancelled for nothing.

But, other do feel differently.

I'll be as brief as possible....I like season 9...yes it's different but it's still Stargate...it does have it's moments...but there are eps in season 1-8 that also had me shaking my head...I would say give it a go...give it a fair chance though...try to not be swayed by those who are not happy with it...watch it and let yourself be the judge!!

i guess the thing is is that i don't have a prob with amanda posing in that magazine. if i looked like her, i'd do it too. *especially* if i were going to get pregnant soon and lose (maybe forever ) that gorgeous figure. femme fatales IS a sexy magazine, but it's not pornographic. and heck, if amanda posed in playboy, i'd still have no prob. i guess because, like i said, if i looked like her, i'd 'show' it too.

but i know everyone feels different and that's super cool.

Yep...I agree...if I had Amanda's looks I'd do the same thing.
Being well endowed...as we say...I used to try to hide my assets...now I'm not so ashamed of them...they're not perfect (after 2 kids!!)...but I take more pride in myself and don't hide away...as much ...so If I had a gorgeous bod like Amanda I'd flaunt it too!! I say WTG Amanda...

I think both are great - kudos to Oma!

For me, I would go for the 2nd one with the Grace kiss but that's also because the tag line of Somewhere Over the Rainbow comes from the Wizard of Oz film where the story ends with Dorothy believing it was a dream/hallucination...and the Grace kiss was Sam's dream/hallucination so it has symmetry.

Hmmm. I think I may have overanalysed this.

They would go to Hell and back (literally) for the other; that's how much they mean to one another. They will fight to the end to bring the other home when lost; stand shoulder to shoulder in a fight for their lives.

Feeling a little better today...chronic pain is just no fun at all

On a slightly more positive note, something that cheered me up no end this morning and which I just had to share with someone...

As many of you will know I write Airwolf fanfic as well as Stargate...in fact I started out with Airwolf and built up a number of very loyal and wonderful readers for my stories.

This morning one of them wrote to me to tell me that a couple of months back she read all my Stargate stories despite never having watched the show before. After reading my stories she immediately rushed out and bought Seasons 1-8 on DVD and has spent the last couple of months happily watching them and getting completely hooked. She's now a huge Stargate fan.

She didn't mention the ship when she wrote to me so I'll have to check I've converted her there too but I still feel very proud that my writing was the reason she started watching....I'm just tickled pink. This is the second of my AW readers I've tempted over to Stargate.
