Didn't I also hear that, originally, there was supposed to be a Jacob/Jack "talk" but that it got yanked? Or is that my shippy mind playing tricks on me?

Don't know about that but I do know for certain that there was supposed to be a kiss between Sam and Jack in Lost City1, but the writers took it out.

BTW, the movie we saw was scary. I don't do scary movies. We left early and went to Target.. But then they closed at 9, so I came home.
