Yes, I know. But they could have easily given him some cover story (he probably hit his head when Osiris shot him anyway and was on heavy meds post surgery) rather than the truth, especially knowing he had already done a background check on Sam and stalked her to the stakeout. I mean, that doesn't exactly do wonders for his credibility or trustworthiness and the fact that Sam supposedly knew him less than a month at the time just adds to that... even if she knew he was completely reliable and trustworthy their "relationship" had hardly started and could be over in a week!

i get the feeling robert cooper *really* didn't want to write this boyfriend storyline for amanda. how could anyone write something THIS bad if he'd really wanted to take the storyline and character seriously?

They had quite a falling out when RDA left the show. It was over how the show should be run. RDA had his own thoughts about that, that included being respectful to the Air Force. RCC, however, could have cared less about that and wanted to do things his own way. I'd say he probably kicked the Air Force right out of being advisers to the show, but I don't know that. RDA said things were extremely chilly ("arctic, in fact") between him and RCC after RDA left the show.

Sorry I'm rubbish with fb! But I agree on the Pete storyline thing. If you have to write it and don't want to, why not sabotage it? JM is right, I want a JM special t shirt that says "Rob Cooper made me cry" ... And hit things! He killed Janet, he sabotaged the ship, he made Pete into a crazy-ass stalker... Etc etc. JM had the full list in his blog once lol.

Yep! He did it to yank our chains. Even Martin Gero was cool with writing the ship! (He wrote Trio)

The problem I have is that, in the behind the scenes interview, Rob Cooper confesses that he changed fandom stuff because "he wanted to" then went on to say that the show was an "homage to the fans"

Like, for example, the Wizard of Oz. the old-timers of the fandom know that Sam has always been Dorothy and Jack the scarecrow. Instead they make Mitchell the scarecrow and Vala Dorothy and Sam gets relegated to Glinda - why?! And why does Jack not get married in his uniform when everyone went gaga over the POV wedding pic? He's a General, for crying out loud! Why just get married in a boring suit? I also don't get why half the scenes with RDA had him invisible or as a puppet - the man was there, no substitute needed!

Apparenly even Amanda went to RCC and asked why she was't going to be Dorothy, since that had been her all through the series. Whatever answer he gave her seemed to satisfy her.

RCC had a big fanboy crush on Claudia Black, and it was thought that he was doing everything he could to put her in front of the camera, even if it meant sidelining Amanda.

RCC was also quoted as saying something not very nice about the fans at some point, which as you can imagine outraged a bunch of fans. I don't recall exactly what he said, but he pretty much called them stupid and clueless and on and on.

Galaxy Quest certainly handled that very well - so many brilliantly funny moments. I liked 200 a lot more than Wormhole Xtreme, while the friend who introduced me to SG-1 thinks 200 is a mess that she couldn't make heads or tails of. I like to think of it as a collection of ideas that couldn't be made into an episode on their own, but put together like that was just fun to watch

That's all it was ever intended to be. and, of course, to celebrate reaching 200 episodes.

Heehee like he would have a snowball in hell's chance even if she weren't married! Some guys are just so predictable I always got the impression that he wasn't fond of AT towards the end either. Hmm, wonder why?

Huh... Fan tidbits I didn't know. But, uh, just to clarify RC is Robert Cooper, MW is Martin Wood and JM is Joe Mallozzi and...RCC...is? Sometimes the acronyms just get me.

I get the impression he'd have been very happy if she'd said she wasn't coming back after having Olivia - he could have stuck Claudia centre stage without any opposition.

Ikorni - Isn't RCC Robert C Cooper? That's who I took it to mean anyway.
