Having said that, if I can find it, there's a fic where on returning from the ice planet, Sam has a sort of crisis of trying to figure out who she is again, and decides to quit the Air Force and leaves Colorado Springs to find herself, not telling anybody where she's gone. Two years later, Daniel stumbles across a picture that looks a whole lot like her (in Alaska, of all places), so he and the team go to see if it's really her. I'd have to do a bunch of searching to find it, but I'll see what I can do.

Oooh lovely fic, I will say amongst the many things I love about this thread is that you get zoomed off to an author you haven't read and discover and whole new batch of fics to read and then are able to wallow in shippiness - Thanks people

That's been my experience, too. I go off to follow a link and many times find a whole treasure trove of new stories by the same author.

i just finished this fic. wonderful!!

i think my fave line was

Maybe coming full circle means proving you can do it on your own, and then realizing you don't have to. Don't want to.

that is SO how i think sam's viewed her independence, as a support... when i really think it was a wall.
