Jack O'Neill/ Sam Carter - Part of a team, not a ship
Well, hello there anti-shippers! Do you have room for one more?
Always!
I'm a girl! A girly girly girl!
Okay, you got me. I can't accept change. This message may look like it was typed on a computer and posted on the internet, but it is actually cave drawings delivered by smoke signals.
Naquada Enhanced Chastity Belts -SG1 edition. On sale now! Heck, I'll give them away
Daniel Jackson Appreciation and Discussion -because he's more than pretty
I don't watch Stargate just so I can drool over who needs to get together. I'm no shipper, and I don't care who gets together. But If I were to choose, it definately wouldn't be Carter and O'Neill as a pair.
I probably shouldn't even attempt to post here but as I never have been able to keep my mouth shut ... Seriously, I just have a couple comments that totally respect your opinions and I certainly don't want to argue with anyone so please don't flame me ( I am verrrry new here). If I cause a problem just tell me (nicely) to go away and I will.
I hear you all saying:
1) You are unhappy with Sam being "The Girl"
2) You hate the idea of SG being a soap opera
3) You want good, interesting Si Fi stories (preferably without 'gate sized plot holes)
4) You miss the team interaction from the good old days
5) You want them to actually go through the gate and do cool stuff again
My observation is that you will find these same statements over on the shipper thread. I certainly feel all those things strongly although I am a shipper. I believe that we are all actually feeling much the same things because we are all fans of SG. Some might say TPTB are doing something right if everyone is unhappy but I don't think so. They can't make everyone happy but I sure wish they could get a little closer to it!
That being said, I suspect that there will be a shippy resolution to the show and I will be more or less happy. But I gain no personal satisfaction in the fact that you all will be unhappy. I empathize with you because I have had my own problems with SG and all the things I listed above.
Anyways, I don't want to cause a problem and I just wanted to put out my 2 cents.
I hate J/S ship.
I hate J/S ship
I hate J/S ship
I hate J/S ship
I hate J/S ship
I hate J/S ship
I hate J/S ship
I hate J/S ship
I hate J/S ship
And, I'll say it over, and over, and over, and over again. I'll rant and complain and moan and whine and holler about how much I hate it, again, and again, and again.
Is that an absolute, definite, positive, money back guaranteed decision or would you like to think about it a little more?
Seriously though, all we have to do is wait for the end of Season 8 when Jack will somehow make his exit. That will make Season 9, I hope, J/S shipless. The announcement of a Stargate SG-1 Magazine (a huge financial investment) leads me to believe that a Season 9 is very probably, already, a done deal. And I doubt very much that the show would continue without all three of its remaining stars. So its doubful that Sam will ride off into the sunset with Jack. I'm doing a little prophesizing here but all the pieces seem to be falling into place for this scenario. It would be a clean slate and a new beginning for TPTB and hopefully they would take full advantage of it.
I guess I'm just wishful thinking. It will make it easier to get through all the upcoming ship nauseum if I just tell myself that it will all be over come next spring.
WE ARE IN OUR 15 THREAD OF "The Sam/Jack Shipper Discussion Thread XV " HA!..... GOD WE ARE GOOD ......OH .....DUH!.....I GUESS I'M IN THE WRONG THREAD
"To the world you may be one person,
but to one person you may be the world"
You guys are aware that being anti-Sam/Jack ship is as pointless as being pro-Sam/Jack ship, right? I don't understand why there are even shippers for a situation like this. It is strictly forbidden for people to have relationships inside any given branch of the military.
There'd be Sam and the rest of SG-1 going off world, and Sam and Jack all like "Bye sweetie! :* :* :*" Then flowers and candy and it'd turn SG-1 into a new teen drama. UGH.
If Sam and Jack wind up together, I will stop watching the show.
If Sam dumps Pete because of Jack, I will stop watching the show.
If Stargate becomes about Sam/Jack, I will stop watching the show.
The implications of "Threads" has me upset and annoyed. Sam questions her engagement to Pete because of unresolved feelings about Jack?? Give me a friggen break! First off, this is Stargate SG-1, NOT As the Stargate Turns! Can we cut out the shippy-soapy crap, please?? I'm watching Stargate for the PLOTS, not the romance! My idea of action is NOT who's tongue is in who's mouth this week. My idea of drama is NOT "will they or won't they?" My idea of character development does NOT revolve around love triangles.
I thought last season was the end of Stargate, but the beginning of this season has given me a glimmer of hope. Now it looks as if that glimmer is the proverbial headlight of the oncoming shipper train. *sigh*
This is the funniest thing I've ever seen you post! lol
