Love it! Or Thorroolz or sleepsucks or iluvscience ... or PetenMe
But they couldn't do that, it had to be something special, something showing how wonderful and magical Sam and Sir is.
Ah, TPTB, how clever you are! Fishing. Proof positive, yet again that your favourite star-crossed couple are Very Important, how can any real SG1 fan argue with that?

Sam/Thor = Smor = OTP - there used to be a great thread on here somewhere....our own beloved Seshat contributed some wonderful artwork for such a perfect meeting of minds....
I am currently in Vancouver, having beaten Icelandic volcanoes, BA Strikes and other henious events perpetrated to stop me travelling.....Here there is no talk of ship and I am having a wonderful time....I have my husband (my OTP4EVA), good friends, food and wine and, as I have great pleasure in repeating frequently, NO SHIP!!....
Life is good....

They have so much in common (alien-ness notwithstanding) and could find so much to talk about ... unlike a certain other couple we could mention....

SG1 and, indeed Sam/Jack were no stronger, in no way enhanced by a forced attempt at a relationship, which had been bobbling along, quite nicely, for several seasons, without the need for melodrama or forced characterisation. But, sadly, some had to push their agenda, and suck all the life out of it, leaving behind a sad mess. Oh, well, SG1 has been over for a couple of years now, no changing what was done.

Once it got into romance though, it's like both started making compromises that didn't make sense, or NOT making compromises that DO make sense.
not sure if i'm being understood, but basically when it's pure friendship, it's funny and sweet. Like when Carter explains the VR trainer to Jack and Jack just replied. "Carter, all i understood was "Matrix" and i found those movies terribly confusing." and Sam just smiles and chuckles because she expected a quip like that. That's friendship, no hinting of UST or the OTP to end them all.
Yet how do we get from easy going friendship like that to the cringe worthy BBQ scene in "Threads" with Sam falling to pieces (including her conversation on teh phone with Jack)
The friendship/Teamship was awesome, it shows that they're both mature enough to work with each other without falling back on "primal" instincts. Yet, time and again, that whole "shippy tinklyness" kept on creeping in which just soured the friendship.
It became an elephant in the room that just couldn't be ignored. Up until Divide and Conquer IMO, it was just a loud color tie with a dark suit. Okay it stands out a bit, but it's nothing that ruins teh ensemble.
Argh, my brain is clay right now, i hope i was understood.Originally posted by Apostle's Message ReduxShepard understood. Given the situation, he wasn't sure that exposing the planet to this kind of secret was smart. Miranda had regaled him with stories of how horrible 20th century Earth sounded in her history lessons and it made him leery. "I agree, god knows what would happen if Grunt got loose."
Joker snorted and muttered loudly. "Run! It's The Incredible Hulk! Kill it with fire!"

Part of why I get so ticked off at TPTB is that they spoiled Sam and Jack's friendship for me, tainted it with the droppings of said elephant, to the point where all their interactions were overshadowed by the unwelcome, odoriferous, pachyderm.

Oh. and lest there's any mistake: He cared about all of them more than he should. Yes?

Originally posted by jdjunkie View PostAh, Divide and Conquer. It became not so much an elephant as a stampeding herd. All the subtlety of a very large brick. It was awful. Embarrassing, actually. Poor Jack had to be reminded about those feeeeelings he'd buried so damned deep he couldn't actually remember them until prompted by Sam. Hee. The ep wasn't a total waste though. Some nice Jack and Janet moments, some funny stuff with Anise and Jack and some glorious Jack and Daniel to make up for the sub-prime pseudo romance nonsense.
And I liked Martuf.

So, no not true love which moves the stars.
Just good old fashioned camaraderie and team friend ship. Nothing important.
