Jack O'Neill/ Sam Carter - Part of a team, not a ship

But I hated the shower scene. The 'Invisible Jack' segment was great fun but the implication that Jack would spy on Sam while she was showering creeps me out big time. There are words for men who do things like that, not words I want to associate with Jack O'Neill. If that is TPTB's idea of a romantic relationship, I despair.

There was a great fic that tried to detail how Jack became invisible and the insanity he pulled.Stuff like Poltergeist activity in the Mess Hall, Driving a Car with Senator Kinsey's Dog on his lap

they did explain the shower scene a bit better than TPTB though, instead of spying. Jack is trying to get away from Teal'c who can somehow detect him constantly and in his mad rush after distracting him, ends up in the women's locker room. Sam notices that the door opened and no one's in there and Jack does hte famos "Is that you sir?" "No." but then immediately starts defending his honor by explaining that he just needed a minute to get away from Teal'c. Sam gets dressed out of his view and can actually sorta see him in the steam.

About the conversation in the spoiler tags. i'm a more vocal anti-sam/jack fan, but i do agree with what you're saying about SGU. My Maracas will still be waiting though

I would have eviscerated a man who did that to me, no matter what my relationship with him. Love involves trust. Would you trust someone who could do that? Nudity is not necessarily sexual but showering like that is a private moment and you trust those you care for not to abuse such trust.

It was supposed to be a joke, it just wasn't funny if you are an adult. There is a time during our teenage years when such behaviour is considered funny, guess what? We grow out of it (or end up in jail). By the time we are a 50+ officer in the USAF, we certainly should have grown out of such behaviour. Particularly if we care for the other person.
There were plenty of scenarios which they could have explored, possibly even some involving the women's locker room but TPTB thought that showing Jack creeping Sam out was just so hilarious and witty (and romantic? Shudder, eww, I hope not). And no one disagreed with them. I would have hoped that someone, RDA even, would have looked at the scene and gone, 'You know, I don't think this says what we want it to say, lets move on to the next one.'

I found all of the rest of the Invisible!Jack sequence to be funny, silly but funny. Which made the shower scene all the more creepy. Heaven help us if you find it romantic! I dread to think what kind of person could see romance in that.

It just worries me; what kind of sick mind thinks this kind of stuff is funny?
What do they think it says about their greatest star-crossed lovers since Romeo and Juliette?
TPTB think it's funny? They never seem to stand back and look at the larger picture, at the way it makes the characters look, at about what it says beyond the cheap laughs. How romantic is it really to kiss someone who won't remember you kissed her? How cute is it to watch her undress and shower, thinking she is in private, to stand there unseen, spying on her. What goes through a man's mind when he's doing that?
Oh, it's a joke, TPTB cry. Lighten up. But jokes made at your female leads expense? How funny is that? Jokes which show your male lead as a peeping tom? Side splitting!

It's a shame there isn't more Jack and Sam friendship fic and an even bigger shame there isn't more Sam fic, way, way too much of it is Sam wuvs Sir and it's nauseating and incredibly badly written.

Well, it looks like the third film is sadly dead in the water, which is a real shame but the more time which passes and the deeper MGM's problems get, the less likely we are to get it.
But at least we won't have to watch the final ignominy of Sam and Jack's dignity being sacrificed on the holy altar of 'ship'.

I don't think Sam and Jack would be happy together. They don't have anything in common and only physical attraction perhaps. But they should either get over it (spend a night together if it would help) and then move on. Or get together. This childish behavior is annnoying and destroys the show (IMHO)

It's amazing really. Wasn't he going to retire? the infamous Trio scene? Bah! now THAT is a conspiracy!

I wouldn't be surprised if they have the audacity to confirm Sam/Jack in a novel or even comic. I am prepared for anything from these writers after watching SGU and SGA (two magnetic opposites of each other) so i'm quite prepared to be nauseatingly crippled one of these days by some random Sam/Jack moment

Hello and welcome, I hope you enjoy the board and your time here.

Don't worry, the majority of fans have no interest in the overblown melodrama of 'Sam wuvs Siripoos' it doesn't take much knowledge of human nature to realise what a poor match they would be and how unlikely a normal relationship would be between them.
But there are plenty of other things to enjoy about SG1, S/J is trivial and insignificant in the overall story of the team.

I didn't suspect conspiracy! I should have guessed that the server issues would trickle down to affect individual accounts.

I haven't seen SGU yet, I suspect it will be a good two or three years before it makes it to terrestrial TV in the UK.

Life's too short for me to worry over TPTB doing something so random and stupid.
SG1 is over, it had ten very successful seasons and a couple of reasonable telefilms, I feel we should all be satisfied with what we got. All TV shows come to an end, SG1's time has past, the fans and the franchise move on, harping back to tired old plot lines only hurts the prospects for the future.

Good point. I still watch SG1, but as an old favorite, not really expecting to see more stories with the characters. (And since I wasn't thrilled with what tptb did with S9 & 10, I don't feel too bereft.)
