LOL! I honestly don't care - I have no intention of watching SGU anyway. But they just can't resist stringing the shippers along, can they?
Oh great...so they can ruin another episode in another series like they did with the debacle that was Heroes Pt. 2....watched that today and didn't realise how much I hated that awful scene between Sam'n'Sir in the infirmary.....*shudders*......did a complete disservice to what should have been a hard-hitting and amazingly emotional episode....
Deeds xx

Spoiler:Ah, TPTB leading the J/S fans round by the nose again. That must get old, if you are a fan of the pairing.
Doesn't say much about their faith in SGU either, if they think they need the to drag out the stinking corpse of their dead horse again.

Re: SGU spoilers:
Spoiler:I seriously doubt the veracity of this particular snippet of nonsense. I thought the whole thinking behind SGU was that it was new, fresh, different (perhaps not even Stargate at all!). Why in the whole wide world of why would they flog this dead horse on the all-new flagship? Doesn't make sense to me. I'll happily take this with the grain of salt it deserves, until I see it with my own eyes. And then I can fanwank it to my heart's content!

Spoiler:As I said, they are teasing the 'shippers again, they did it before with that cut scene in Atlantis, they will no doubt do it again. It seems to be a sport amongst TPTB. If I was a fan of the pairing, I wouldn't believe a thing I was told until I saw it with my own two eyes.
And people think its hyperbole when I say that I don't want TPTB to touch my favourite pairing with a ten foot pole!

Slashing involves an entirely different subversive reading of text and that's half the fun of it! If it was canon, if it was easy, it wouldn't be as much fun.

Oh, wait.
Thas was Voyager. You confused me for a second. I was like "wait, that was Tom on Voyager." And then I remembered that I wanted to consciously block that episode out of my memory. *shudders* Although it's the kind of thing that I could see happening with S/J.
Watched part of Secrets the other day. There's some lovely Sam and Jack friendship-only moments in there.
Except that Jack calls her "Sam" twice in one scene. Which irritates me to no end. It just doesn't seem very military or very professional to me. But maybe that's just me. *shrug*Chief of the GGP (Gateworld Grammar Police). Punctuation is your friend. Use it!
Great happy armies shall be gathered and trained to oppose all who embrace doubt. In the name of Hope, ships shall be built to carry our disciples out amongst the stars, and we will spread Optimism to all the doubters. The power of the Optimi will be felt far and wide, and the pessimists shall become positive-thinkers.
Hallowed are the Optimi.

How many years since the end of season 8? Three, four? If they can't get their act together by now? What kind of 'relationship' is that? Well, we all know what a damp squib it's been from the start, so going out with a whimper is in keeping.

It'll make for a great movie.

So what if the ship has sailed (metaphorically speaking). It's fiction, right? We can just pretend that no time has passed and nothing has changed. It'll make for a great movie.

The Jack and Daniel buddy stuff made the series for me and the Jack and Team likewise.
RDA is charismatic and fun to watch in in good shape.
But it's over, past, you can't preserve SG1 in amber. It changed, everything does. Sam no longer makes stupid feminist rants and can effectively run her own command. Daniel cut his hair and became a soldier. Teal'c grew hair and freed the Jaffa. Cam happened. Vala happened. Jack became a desk jocky in Washington, not for a few brief months before retiring to fish at his pond, but for several years.
SG1 as it was in seasons one to eight is over.
I'm worried that the third film will be a laughing stock with general fans outside of us SG1 fanatics if TPTB try to loose all the changes made. Personally, I found Shatner/Ford/Willis/Arnie to look ridiculous when they were still trying to be action heroes in their 50's and 60's. Actors don't have 'sell by' dates, many get better as they get older (see Shatner in Boston Legal as an example) but [i]characters[i] have sell by dates; they should change to reflect the age of the person playing them.
There are a whole raft of newer fans who don't care about S/J, never have done, they joined the show in later seasons, older fans have forgotten about it, moved on to other fandoms, they might come back for a third film, but whatever meager impetus S/J had has stalled and been lost by the length of time between the end of season eight and the third film. And the longer they leave it, the sillier it will seem if they re-visit it. Who is going to care about a four/five year old plot thread by the time the third film is released?
