They simply chose not to promote you. The US military has an "up or out" policy. You can be passed over once for a promotion and still stay in, but when you are passed over a second time you have to get out of the way of younger officers who--presumably--will move on up.

It's a way of keeping dead wood out.

In general I think Davis should be hitting his silver oak leaves SOON. Especially given that Carter's now gone THROUGH major and onto LTC while he's stayed the same grade.

The rank insignia for Major is gold oak leaf. The insignia for Lt Col is a silver oak leaf.

I agree, it's time he was promoted. He's been a fine, upstanding officer. I think we should launch a campaign to get him promoted.

Thanks for the pointer. That's something I actually would write in about should they get another season. I could definitely do with more Major Davis and I bet they don't hear that nearly enough.

Woo hoo, caught Zero Hour last night for the first time and Major Cutie was in it, just a small scene, why oh why isn't he in SG MORE OFTEN!!!!
