Ahhhhh, a few spare minutes on a Saturday, and I've stolen time on my partner's computer since I've managed to destroy the OS on my own... Time to finally chip in with my own take on the various list discussions
the past few weeks!

As for season 9... I realize it will no doubt horrify many people, but when I first started watching Stargate, I wasn't a huge Jack fan. In fact, he was my least favorite character. Fear not, however: he has really grown on me since I started watching as a faithful fan, even to the degree that I now truly regret that he is leaving. But from the beginning, the reason I watched the show was the character of Sam Carter.

But I guess RDA's loss probably affects me less than some, and I am more than willing to give Ben Browder a chance on the team. Not to replace Jack, but to earn his own place, playing his own role, and his own character. The writers have to give him that chance, to focus a few storylines on him in order to give the audience the opportunity to bond with him. They can't flesh out his character without shining the spotlight on him. Okay, I can handle that, as long as the team isn't entirely forgotten in the process. And judging from Michael's and Chris's interviews, they haven't been forgotten, so there's no reason for me to think that Sam will be overshadowed when she finally gets back, either.

I never had a chance to watch Farscape, but BB seems like a decent guy, and I think he has shown a great deal of respect for everyone involved with Stargate in the interviews he has given so far. I like his attitude... Claudia Black's, as well. They don't seem to be carrying huge egos into this, and I'm kind of looking forward to seeing what they bring to the series. I keep reminding myself that change isn't always a bad thing.

I'm giving TPTB the benefit of the doubt... while I didn't agree with everything they did to/with Sam the past two seasons, I think they did make her a much more interesting, complex character in many ways. I'm looking forward to seeing where they take her next.

Admittedly, I will be very unhappy if she isn't given command of SG-1 when she gets back, but I'm willing to wait and see how they handle things before going ballistic. As someone else pointed out, TPTB have given me 8 wonderful seasons of Stargate so far; I'm hoping they can pull a rabbit out of a hat and pull off a 9th... and a 10th... without RDA. I don't underestimate how difficult an undertaking that must be for them.

As for biking and beans....another no comment.

I better get back to the kitchen, me thinks I've been away from the ovens too long, or maybe I spend too much time there and my brains are fried.

And 1s4S, delayed congrats on your 100th post. I'm not being allowed to jello you ( ), but will when the system deems it "appropiate."

In reality, it will be occurring in Pennsylvania. In my mind, who knows...

And maybe *amusing* wasn't quite the right word - possibly *bizarre* would have been a better choice. I'm thinking little "Billy-Goat-Gruff" type beard, dyed green? Or possibly even orange, in honour of Samanda?

As for mixing biking and beans - not really recommended (especially when wearing lycra shorts).

And thanks for the congrats, Atteria - no worries about the jello, after all you were kind enough to rep me before the event (and before I got locked outside the Kingdom for a while, ho hum). Wouldn't mind a bit of cake, though - don't suppose you could do me a nice vanilla slice, please?

My Dear Royal Bikester

It is good to have you back on patrol. As to the nudity and tattoos and piercings ... methinks I shall pass on that and wait for the Local Tatoo Parlor to open soon, next to the Royal Bakery.

Ah, yes, after our weekly session with Madam VP, who has begun her royal practice as a couples counselor, Murray and I will pledge our unending troth with mutual tattoos. The Couples Counselor encouraged us to show some physical sign of our affection, thus we are deep in discussion about the proper symbols to be displayed. Any suggestions?

In the meantime, be content to know that I attempted the mighty Manayunk Mile this past weekend in a nearby location, but fell off my bike at the base of the incline. I then lay in the gutter and quenched my thirst whilst a dizzying array of speedsters passed me by. It was almost a religious experience watching those whizzing spokes go by ... I swear I saw the Royal Accountant leading the pack.

Do keep your royal cycle ever ready ... many new citizens have entered the kingdom; traffic is building. We may have to install light switches at the local intersections. And we may all have to proceed with caution a bit more.

I am also pleased to see that you are maintaining your fitness regime. We'll outpace that pesky Royal Accountant yet (whilst proceeding with all due care and attention, of course). But I sincerely hope that the gutter in which you found yourself was not the same one into which certain other Samandans (for example, myself, AD and Strix) occasionally plummet at the drop of a double-entendre? I would hate to see your wit and poetry debased by the experience, and become nothing more than smut and limericks.
