I don't know if you've all got season eight on DVD or not, but I never got it because it's too darned expensive (here in the UK, the boxsets tend to cost around £50 - that's almost $100).

Anyway, good news is that Asda have slashed the price on season eight to £26.97 (including delivery). The link is here.

i like the fair chance
one thing i've seen more than once, and i know it applies to my fic too. 'i only read it because it was yours'
this can be a good thing - and quite flattering - because it exposes people to pairings/ideas they normally wouldn't have read.
on the other hand, i've seen my share of 'i know denise's story is crap but she's my friend so i feel like i HAVE to pimp it and support it.'
fantastic for friendship and loyalty but are folks really doing a good thing in the long run?
it's not good to crush someone's dreams and denegrate their efforts...but if someone is writing junk, is it good to tell them that junk is War and Peace? (no easy answer to this one)
at the end of the day 'good' is a relative term

Wow...this is interesting...I have read a lot of fics and there are lots out there that are just great and there are lots out there that I just can't read...but I don't make a judgement on a fic because of who wrote it...half the time...no most of the time I don't even know who the author is...sorry...I'm not trying to be ignorant of the author...it's just the names don't ring any bells...sometimes...you know it took me ages to figure out who the heck you were...but then again...I was reading fics long before I came to GW...but I think that from now on I'll give feedback to the stories that really grab me...I would love to give feedback to all of them but if I did that I wouldn't have time to read as many!!

I can't speak to how the cast were treated, or how they felt about said treatment, but I do have very strong reactions to how the original veteran characters were handled in Season 9 and 10.

However, if they *had* ended the series at the end of Season 8, then any movies would have had a much higher likelihood of featuring the Original Four as SG-1 - instead of new characters.

here's a crazy idea of fixing the probs for us. and 'us' being the original team fans and sam fans.

remember, this is basically crazy...



while on a mission, they come across a device. upon investigation (which means sam tinkering with it ), it's found out that it's a type of time travel device. and upon further tinkering, sam realizes that it's close to the quantum mirror, in that it can distinguish between realities. and then sam realizes that...

the reality they're presently living through is wrong. that the events in 'moebius' didn't fix the time line properly.

so sam and co decide to set things straight again.


OR.


they find a device that'll let them erase the last few months, so that they never meet the ori. or at least sends them back in time so that when the ori meeting would have taken place, it doesn't this time. so sam, daniel, and teal'c make sure this time not to disband sg1. vala still shows up, but daniel immediately explains what would have happened and makes sure it doesn't this time. and mitchell is given another team to command, which vala wants to join so she can try a relationship with daniel. (daniel says nope ).


*i* want to erase season 9 (and 10), so i'm trying to find a way of doing it.

Everything Sam and Amanda of course...I would like to be able to post letters to Amanda...you know...like we did for her birthday at the Amanda Tapping club...but I would hope that Amanda knows about the site and visits!
