    I completely agree with your assessment. I saw nothing negative at all towards Sam, if anything I thought it was a very positive look at her and her abilities. For me Grace Under Pressure will go down as one of my favorite epiosodes ever of Atlantis.

    As a S/J shipper, I also saw nothing negative in this towards ship. This was Rodney's hallucination after all.

      I have total respect for Amanda going back to work just six weeks after having Olivia and looking after her full time when not on set, that must be the hardest thing to do getting up in the night to feed Olivia and learn her lines!
      She has made Sam the wonderfull character that she is today, just a little story i want to share with you>>>>A few years ago i wrote my very first fan letter to Amanda because of a scene she had filmed with Teryl that was so moving it brought me to tears and stayed on my mind for a number of days after. I received a signed picture of her a few months later, i did not ask for it and she had to send it over to the U.K so she also paid out for the postage stamps! if she did this to all her fans the lady is forking out a lot of postage from her own purse and that is somthing which makes her (and any other star) special imho

        one thing i found quite amazing is that here crapy gun the "carter special" was porly made on the set, and there was a time where it spat bullets out of its side. and she just laughed about it. she could have been seriously hert and she was fine and friendly about it.

            Despite having some fun yesterday with AT's
            Spoiler:
            bathing suit pics, I confess I am a bit disturbed by the continuing regression of storylines towards witty banter and sexual innuendo without a lot of substance otherwise. I mean, I liked the Daniel/Vala banter to an extent, and I will probably enjoy Rodney/Sam banter, as well, but, really, is this the direction we're going from now on? The only way TPTB know how to use their brilliant actresses? Get 'em into revealing outfits at every available opportunity? How long will it be before they start stripping Weir down? Sure, I liked Xena, too, but I always thought Stargate had a bit more class.
            Just had to get that out of the way.

                  My goodness, I didn't know that. Anyone who's had any experince with firearms will tell you that a defective weapon can maim/blind the person shooting it. How she laughed it off amazes me and shows the kind of person AT is.

                    This is how I sort of feel about it as well. Sure, it was enjoyable. But there just wasn't anything really to it. I think you could have stuck Amanda Tapping and David Hewlett together in a room, told them to improvise the script entirely, and still come up with something as good as GUP was, storywise. Trust me, I have absolutely no problem with Amanda Tapping strippping down once in a while. But I want that to actually add to the story, not be the basis for the entire story.

                    And, for as much as I delight in seeing Amanda Tapping appear on anything, I'm not too happy seeing a significant portion of the Atlantis cast absent in order to accomodate it. As others have mentioned, there is only so much time in each episode. I think we can all agree that if Carter does cross over to Atlantis for some episodes next season, then we'd like for her to have at least as big a role as she did in GUP. But, for me, this episode indicates that the writers aren't going to be able to avoid wallpapering the Atlantis cast members when Amanda Tapping and Michael Shanks do guest. And that can only lead to bad things.

                        I think a lot of folks saw GUP as a long-awaited series of great "Amanda" moments on screen, and didn't really look at the actual story that was told unto itself. It was all about Amanda and not about the episode's actual narrative. And I think the writers were actually banking on that, to some degree (which is why I felt the ep was a cop-out storywise).

                        BANG. Dead on. That's it, exactly. No better way to say it. Amanda rocks. David Hewlett does too. GUP's narrative sucked.

                                Anyway, managed to pick myself off the floor after the pics. I loved the outfirts generally. Do you think they might be changing the SG1 uniforms to pink anytime soon? With blue bikinis for off world missions? I'm sure they'd suit Mitchell down to the ground

                                And, as for conventions. No way I can make the Shore Leave, but put my name down for Gabit AT2!!!
