you might have to wait a bit though. it's been my expeience that uk mags take a week or three to get here to the states
Were I live Borders does carry Dreamwatch but it is usually a month delay and they only get a few copies of the UK magazines, so if you don't stop by the day the magazines arrive you often miss getting them. But that is the way it goes in smaller markets.

you could see if they'll save you one

or, worse comes to worse, mail order it from the publisher

the postage might be worth getting it sooner and not risking losing it

I'll also check out a couple of Borders and B&N. I'll let you know if I find something.

That's probably what I will end up doing. I just have to have it.

That is so awesome. You're right - good for them. I can't even imagine a Stargate without Sam. Plus, she's settled in in Vancouver with her family - if Stargate goes on, she has a secure job, she seems to enjoy it, and she doesn't have to go looking for a job in Hollywood, like she once said.

Just checked out the webpage(s) for the DreamWatch Magazine. Seems like they have one in the US now that's actually printed here, but I wonder if it's the same like in the UK or if they have different contents.
It also seems like you can only get a subscription on those webpages, either for UK or US, but you cannot order just one issue.
                Anybody know more about this?
Looks like the mag with Amanda is #133 of the UK version, don't know what it would be in the US or Australia and, like I said, if it's the same.

                Thank you, Skydiver

Once Sept rolls around and they move on to the next issue they will post this one as a back issue and then it can be ordered from their web site. Large US bookstores do carry a limited number but issue 132 just hit US stands this week so it will be a month before 133 hits US stands. I buy Dreamwatch 4 or 5 times a year because they have pretty good articles. The last one I purchased was #131. The US one is not the same - there are a few crossover articles but it is a little smaller and they don't have as much information on things like Dr.Who plus of course the adds are different. The UK market really does have a better selection of SciFi genre magazines - The cost of them in the US can be pretty expensive but some of the articles are worth it to me. Plus I'm a Dr. Who fan and even though we don't get the new Dr here in the US I have been reading up on it so I know when the box set of DVD's is available because that will be one to order from Amazon.uk.

On a seperate topic I was at Borders today (my weekly run for new music magazines - today it was Downbeat & Modern Drummer). While I was there I thumbed threw the new SciFi Magazine and there was an add for the Season 8 DVD's and it says that there will be audio commentaries for all 20 episodes. If that is true then the R1 DVD's will be the only ones that have all the commentaries fo S8. With it being a 5 disc set there is no telling at this point what extras are on the other Region DVD's that will not be on the R1's.

                      Commentaries for ALL episodes?

                      *drools*

                      Soooo cool.

As long as there isn't as much potty humor as fans from the other regions are talking about, that'd be awesome.

Also, thanks so much for posting that message about Atteria, sg-1fanintn. It's good to know that she's still hangin' in there!

Great walls, Kat! Love your new additions – my favorite for August is all of them. I hope you submitted some of these to Kamil and to the AT contest for Gabit. Your work is professional, as always!

It defies all possible logic for the character of Sam Carter to rejoin SG1 in anything other than the leadership position. For all the vaunted talk of military advisors, this is something that would never, in a million years, happen in the real military. Can anyone imagine an instance where a person is the Captain of a ship, goes away for awhile only to return to the ship as the 1st officer? It's insane. Adding insult to injury, the writers made a big deal about Sam gaining command last season -- now they take it away? There is no character logic to that process, the only logic is that Sci-Fi/the writers of SG1 couldn't write for a female leader. It's not only insulting to the character, it's also insulting to the fans and the actress and the show as a whole.
Well said!! I must be the only one who didn't like S9 EXDM
                            Spoiler:
the patch scene. It was "hair-pulling." I was screaming "NOOOOOOO! Sam is in charge of SG-1!" I can believe Sam training Mitchell to lead an off-world team, but it is inconceivable that Mitchell in all his "newbie" self would be given command of the premier SG team over THREE battle-tested, Gou'ald-kicking, Replicator-smashing warriors! He's like a fish out of water! And his diplomacy stinks! I feel like the scripts are turning into Mitchell (RDA replacement).

Sorry, I just needed to vent.

Glad to hear an update about Atteria. My thoughts are with her.

Kat, I get an error message when I try to access your Sam Walls.

                              Coley posted again! Yay!

I didn't think it was clearly defined who was in charge of SG-1.
                              Spoiler:
I didn't hear Landry give Mitchell command, and just because Cam handed out the patches didn't necessarily mean that he will be in charge in the future, at least, not to my mind.

I liked the episode; Teal'c finally had an important role to play!

I loved the Jaffa getting hit by the car in the beginning... very unexpected! I also thought the fight in the building was hoot... staff weapons blowing up office cubicals... how many people have wanted to do that in real life?
I don't usually like the earth-based episodes as well, but this was a fun twist, I thought. I did wonder why noboby noticed all the UFO activity happening in the area.

I loved the look Sam and Daniel exchanged after the patch exchange. Actually, I thought that was a really good scene, and it didn't bother me at all. It was heartwarming to me, and I was just happy the team was back together. I'm afraid, however, that they are going to be split up a lot in the future, with Sam leading one half, and Cam leading the other.

I really, really dislike Gerak. I feel torn, because I admire Lou G., and I naturally want to like his character (even as a villian), but he and the writers have done such a good job that I can't stand him. I can't even like him as a villian in the same way I do Ba'al.

And speaking of Ba'al... did they just clone the host, or did they clone the symbiote, too? And if they did both, aren't the implications kind of staggering? Amusingly, after the closing scene with multiple Ba'als, one of my friends asked, "So, did anyone else think that looked like the perfect set-up for a porn flick?" We all laughed... But, I do wonder how long it will take before that shows up in fanfiction!

I was truly disappointed in the way they handled the building/bomb. Gosh, replicator transporter technology is... way over the top. Too powerful. Too deus ex machina. What can't it transport? What is the limit? Seems like it would be too easy to make it the solution to all problems. Don't like that wraith hive ship? Screw trying to beam a nuke on board! Just beam the whole ship into the nearest sun! I think TPTB opened up a can of worms that they'll regret later.

I really enjoyed seeing Barrett again. He and Sam work so well together. And At looked kind of tired to me, but she's such a great actress. It's so good to see Sam back in action.

I'm definitely looking forward to the rest of the season!

Y'know, I can't help think Sam's just pandering to Mitchy. I mean - come on, we all know who's really in charge.
