I believe JM has said that SciFi is going to issue a press release this week about the casting for Season 5. Personally, I am both longing to hear the news and dreading it at the same time. But I guess I'm just in a pessimistic mood today.

If the news is not what you were wanting to hear, just remember that there are only so many hours in a day and only one Amanda. She can't do every role she wants to do and it is clear that Sanctuary is her priority. If only we could figure out a way to clone her.

I'm with you, Melora. I think that Amanda is going to focus only on Sanctuary now, and I can understand that. I wished she would continue to play Sam, but she may have decided not to because that would be too much on her and her family. I'm at least hoping for a few guest appearances in season 5, but who knows. I hope I am wrong and that she play both Sam and Helen, but it is too suspicious that we have not heard anything by this time.

I wish Amanda all the best and will watch her in whatever she decides to do.

To anyone worrying about Amanda not being in season 5 - you've seen her latest pics from Banff (?) Does that strike you as an actress worried about her future? AS much as I hate Sam being in Atlantis and so far away from Jack I'm sure she'll be in season 5...

Amanda's interview -I got bored after a couple of minutes... Kamil not such a great interviewer...

Silkie, that is an incredibly rude thing to say.

How you can say you were bored after a couple of minutes when it was 30 minutes worth of interview, with some really interesting questions and answers, is beyond me.

Amanda was relaxed and Kamil moved things along at a reasonable pace allowing her to talk more than most interviewers do without interrrupting constantly. I for one thought it was one of the nicest interviews I've heard in a while.

Great interview by Kamil! Amanda seemed very relaxed and there were thoughtful questions that lead easily into other questions. Covered a wide variety of topics!

looking forward to more information about the movie she was in. She is playing a mother, should be pretty cool. I'm glad to hear she has other opportunities and more roles offered her way. YAY she may be directing again!! And Of course always excited to hear about Sanctuary! She is learning the business side of things now. I know from experience in a different field that it can be fun and mind numbing at the same time.

Give the man a break. He's not a pro at this. He did just fine and managed to get an interview with Amanda which was the best part of it. It's always a good thing to hear from Amanda no matter with whom she chooses to give the interview.

Also, bear in mind that English is not Kamil's native language!

With regard to Amanda's forays into 'enemy' country - anti Sam/Amanda threads, Julia (G4) has told her off many times for going there and upsetting herself! It seems to be like a magnet that she can't resist. Hopefully as an antidote she comes here to set the world right again.

No, she didn't look worried or sound worried in her interview. And she shouldn't be. She obviously has plenty of offers coming in and is heavily involved in getting a major project off the ground. She has (as she has said previously) an embarrassment of riches right now. And I think Sanctuary is going to be a big success for her and everyone involved.

Having said that...

I suspect you are in for a big surprise. Right now, I am just hoping Sam will be in SGA Season 5 in some capacity and they don't kill the character off. I have a feeling she might not be in it at all. If that's the case, I am going to really miss Sam. But I also completely understand why AT might not want to devote her time to it. Sanctuary is a much better professional opportunity for her right now and a lot of people involved in it are depending on her.

Sorry you didn't enjoy it. I thought it was a very nice interview. Kamil seems like a lovely person and I think he did just fine. To me this was much more interesting than other recent interviews I have listened to/read that cover the same things over and over. It was nice to hear about what Amanda has been up to recently and her thoughts on SGA and Sanctuary. And Kamil's concern for Amanda was really sweet.

I agree. I thought he did a nice job. And he's not a professional interviewer. He let her talk unlike some interviewers . And given that he's the person running the fan site I thought it was entirely appropriate that he let her know what he's heard from fans & I thought that in his concern he was speaking for all of us as well in a way. I was right with him when he told her

She definitely needs to hang out here to counteract the negative stuff out there.

the idea that confidence doesn't necessarily mean arrogance and that she's learned that over the years. I feel like I'm kind of in the same situation. I'm about her same age and have become more confident over the last several years & realized that I can do that without having an overinflated ego. (At least I hope I don't come off that way). I certainly don't think anyone could accuse AT of being arrogant.

I was torn when she said

she saw herself mostly producing & directing in the future. While I'm sure she'll do a great job as a director and I want her to be happy in what she's doing, I selfishly want to see her ON SCREEN.

First, thank you suse for posting the link to the interview. Second, thank you Kamil for doing the interview. I'm not sure if it was via phone where the speakerphone was on, but I did raise the volume up to hear it. I know that English isn't his native tounge, but there are times when people can't understand me.

While I know she couldn't say if she's signed on for season 5 of Atlantis. If Amanda is on board great. If not also great. It's whatever makes her happy. I'll watch whatever she dose in the future.
