Comic Con allows video taping except when video's are shown on screen so finding video's online from Comic con is not to difficult. Here is some from Comic Con 2005.

However Shore Leave and Creation do not allow video taping at their cons. Yes you will find short clips online that people have taken. If you go to creations web site you will find clips from creationTV that they take during their cons.

Cool. Hey ah, just out of curiosity, is there a limit to this thread? I mean wow, it's been around since 2004. With over 4100 pages, and that's a long time, and I think Amanda/Sam has got the longest and largest fan thread on Gateworld. And I love!!!! coming here, but will there ever be a time when we have to make a "SAGC 2" thread? I hope not, This is like a big happy hom for Sam fans, and a lot of Amanda's life has been talked about here.

I'm a shipper and I don't like Pete. The storyline in and of itself...eh. If it had been a guy I could have actually seen with Sam...and she hadn't forgiven him and 'taken him back' so easily, if Pete hadn't been such a stalker, and basically if the whole plot had been rewritten, I could have dealt with it, I guess. Well, dealt with it better than what we actually saw. I would have still enjoyed it as much as sticking forks in my eyes, but I can see the point of such a storyline. Sam, character development, boyfriend, having some fun, etc.-that's all good. What we saw play out, not so good. IMHO.

I like to ask something about Sam. Sam and Pete to be exact. Obviously I'm a shipper, and it seems I'm the only shipper out there who didn't mind Pete (of course, the fact that he is history helped with that ). I liked Chimera, because it showed us a happy Sam. A looking-very-good-in-civvies-Sam But seriously, I liked Sam having a personal life, being happy, flirting, getting some ... she's a beautiful woman right? She should.

What do you all think about this story arc for Sam? A fellow shipper mentioned some nasty things about Sam (and Amanda even) in regard to this, so I really would like to know what Sam fans think.

You probably already know that of me but I *love* Chimera, just because I love Sam out of the base and trying to build up a 'normal' life... and that includes dating, dressing up and everything
I loved seeing Sam trying to do that and being akward about it too, and it would be normal that men are interested in Sam, look at her Even though she hardly comes out it is normal that there are men who like her.

I didn't mind Pete at all, and while I didn't like his behaviour (as in stalking persons) but scary enough it is realistic... I mean intelligent women who have been stalked and still didn't mind it... Just because they though that man is good and would take care of her... they then easily forget about it... I mean it didn't show Sam as weak to me honestly, it showed Sam trying to make things work between Pete and her. She really fell in love with him and why not he is charming so when she discovered the stalking, she could easily overlook it because she wanted this so badly, especially after the advice from her dad in Grace (okay technically it was her but I am sure she really thought about that)
And I think she really wanted to make things work between her and Pete... also maybe a way to forget the things she felt for Jack, cause she knew this could never happen...

And I am not saying I like stalking Pete cause I don't like stalkers at all, and if you ask me they could have done without it, but it is realistic sadly enough

the problem with pete being seen as a stalker...the ONLY reason he's seen like that is because PdL, when he wrote it, never took the time to come up with a reason for pete to be at daniel's house.

thus making it appear that pete had stalked sam

all they needed was 'you know, if we hadn't have had to clear our stakeout with the springs PD, he'd have never known where it was'

I hope there will be a polar bear contingent there. Unfortunately I will have to enjoy AT3 from others' reports.
I don't know if polar bears are respectable, but we are hardy and determined. I keep looking for non-ship fic. Very hard to find. though even if you have polar bear sensibilities you might want to check out CG's "Heat."

BTW--Great polar bear weather here today. -4F this AM.

Speaking of Polar bears...we saw one at the museum today...and it was 35C outside...yesterdays trip to the beach left us with sunburn...my chest is red...really red...but it was so much fun in the surf!!

As most of you know...I'm a S/J shipper but I didn't totally dislike the whole Pete thing...I think it was good to see Sam grow with the Pete story arc but to me Pete was too flippy...to giddy...but I would date him...if I weren't married....and if he didn't stalk me...I think he's cute...I think DDL is gorgeous...but to me the whole Pete story showed me just how much Sam and Jack belonged together...I know that sounds strange to some of you...but then again...who ever said I was normal!!!

I'd love to see a fanfic "correcting" TPTB's mistakes with Pete. Maybe coming to a realization of what stress his ex-wife had w/ having a spouse in a dangerous job. Not knowing if he'd come home. And with Sam, she might be gone for days or weeks on end but they couldn't tell him where or what she was doing etc.
Most fic I see that has Pete in it makes him some kind of wife beater. And Sam would never tolerate that. Not to mention that she could take him in a fight.
I think Jonas was a bit controlling & she ditched him. And I think the first time a guy even would raise a hand to her she'd be outta there.

I do agree with you but then again from a different perspective think about this...even strong women are victims of abuse...so as much as we love Sam and think she's the best kick ass soldier out there who could take on any putz who dares to hurt her, the reality of it is that it could happen...even to Sam...there are some well written fics out there where Sam is the victim of abuse be it by Pete or Joe or Jonas or some other loser, but there are also some out there that are way off...:O

Pete even admitted to being a stalker in Affinity when he proposed to her...I just always got the feeling that Pete was more for this relationship than Sam was...I think that if it were Jack she was dating that she would be much more comfortable and relaxed...but with Pete...I felt that she really wanted a life outside the SGC and she knew she couldn't have Jack so along comes Pete and...bingo...something new and exciting...only I don't think it was as exciting as she would have thought it would be...of course I could be totally wrong....NOT!!!

Off to apply some SOOV to the burn...got a busy weekend scheduled so with luck I should be back on Sunday...after work...hubby's cooking...yay!!

I've been out of the loop for a while now. Any news on Amanda's contract situtation for season 5 ?? If they did work a deal, sorry, I didn't hear about it. A deadline must be soon approaching or something. It wouldn't surprise me if she didn't sign up in order to work on other projects. It might be the right move to make at this moment for her career. But could you imagine TPTB hiring another actor to play Samantha Carter? Like, .....next on SciFi,... Stargate Atlantis,.... with Markie Post as Col. Samantha Carter. It wouldn't seem right.

With the Sam and Pete issue, maybe using 'weak' was the wrong term. I had a problem with Sam taking him back so easily after he threw his tantrum/fit or what ever you want to call his childish behaviour of walking out because she wouldn't tell him what she couldn't. I think she should have been angry with him for hurting her like he did. And if she was going to take him back, he should have at least apologized profusely The writers definitely made a mistake with how they wrote Pete, if they had kept the way he was in the beginning without the wrong turn, I think it would have been a good relationship for Sam
