Yes, I think you'd have to be the same gender, though I wonder if they look pretty similar... I have boy/girl twins in my class, and I don't think they look *that* much alike. Even still, I keep calling them the wrong names. Bad teacher.

I ordered it online. Yes, I think it's (Band of Sisters) good. Each chapter tells the story of a different woman in the various service branches in Iraq. Some are pilots, some are drivers etc. The one I just started is a crew member on a ship. I think it gives good info in general about what troops are dealing with on a day to day basis over there.

I'll have to get it then...I'm really getting into this thing they call "reading"...got a rec to get a book called "Prey" by Micheal Crichton (sp?)...from what I've heard about it, it's really good...IIRC it has something to do with nano-technology...kinda up Sam's alley!!

So I really do wonder if Amanda and her brother look somewhat similar. This makes me think of those fics where it's an AU and it's Samuel Carter instead of Samantha Carter. That would have been a neat episode to do and her brother could have made an appearance.

Totally OT of course, but I don't think they're going to go the route of making the 4400 instruments of the evil future. I think the future faction that created the 4400 are really trying to stop the catastrophe, just not caring who gets hurt to do it. The faction that created Isabelle are the evil ones. She was created to destroy-so she was more deliberate "go out and kill" and the rest were more "go fix this, I don't care how you do it." Doesn't make either faction particularly good, in my view. (But then, that's how I always felt about the Ascended Ancients vs. the Ori too. Ori=really evil, Ascendeds=not very good, even by comparison. )

Exactly. That's how things were with me in high school. I was teased in grade school, but by the time I was in High School I was just mostly under the radar (though there were a couple girls that were just plain mean to everyone, but since they weren't in the honor's class I didn't have any run ins with them really).

I was in pretty much the same situation. I was the fat little kid no one wanted to know but in high school there were so many different types of kids and outcasts so to say that I fitted in much better...I'm still close with 4 girls I met through high school...we're all still a little goofy but that's just us!!
I recall hearing that Amanda herself was not one of the "in" crowd...that she would sit away from the popular girls...it so reminded me of my school years...and IIRC...Smiley had the same experience...but I think it makes us stronger and wiser people in the end.
At my 10 year reunion way back in 98...it was very interesting to see how much some of had changed and how little others had...I walked away feeling quite pleased with my lot and I got to know some other people in a different light...some good and some not so good...but that's life I guess!!

Atlantis and Stargate SG1 both air on tv at 11.20pm here...it's been that way for a few years now...but I'm just happy they still air it...I would hate to see it go straight to pay tv coz then I'd miss out completely!!

Yes...identical twins can not be of different genders...because they are made from the one egg and one sperm...dividing into 2 separate embryos. Most of these twins share the same placenta and have identical DNA!!!
However, fraternal twins are made from 2 eggs and 2 sperm fertilized at the same time and these babies have their own placenta and do not have identical DNA!
The 3 most common variation of twins fraternal...
1. Male/female - 40% of twins born
2. Female fraternal
3. Male fraternal
Identical twins are less common than fraternal and female identical twins occur more then male identical twins.
Apparently it is genetic to have fraternal twins and it's the female that is influential on whether twins are conceived or not and that it is more common in older woman...those over 35!!
So...having researched that...Amanda stood a pretty good chance at having twins!! Cool!!!
And Amanda and her brother Christopher are one of approximately 125 million twins in the world...cool!!
I'm one in...how many people do they think there are on Earth???..well I'm only one of them!!!!

Bryan Adams' 'Summer of 69?' erm, it's a good song but I much prefer the chimpmunk song for this vid as it fits the goofiness of it all. Nice choice.

It's a great song and because of the name went with the episode so well, but because i make my videos goofy-ish i just couldn't seem to make it probably, and i didn't have enough 1969 clips to use anyway... but yeah i like how it turned out and the song is funny! Thanks

That would have been an interesting episode... but fun, i'd reckon she wouldn't loevd the opportunity to work with her brother... and wouldn't have a clue whether they'd look alike but who knows, most siblings do, not all, but most... apparently by brother and i look alike, and there's five years between us... though i've been told i look like my mum and dad too... Heehee!

Yeah, i was like that at school too, i got along better with Teachers than students, so much so that i have more teachers mobile numbers than students and i catch up with them on school holidays... weird! But when i was at school during lunch i'd either be in the art room, working in the canteen or sitting down by myself listening to music! But it got me through it and i love who i am! I don't keep in touch with pretty much anyone i went to school with, although if i ever bump into anyone, its weird coz they'll start talking to me like we're old friends... crazy, especially since at school they pretty much ignored me!
Oh well, deffintely makes us better people as we grow! And yeah i also remember Amanda mentioning something like that about her school life! And look how much people love her now
